Two nights ago a young woman brought her husband into the emergency room of the Sriphat Hospital in Thailand, where he passed away. A guard thinks she remembers her coming in before but with a different husband - one who also died. Ladarat Patalung, for one, would have been happier without a serial murderer - if there is one - loose in her hospital. Then again, she never expected to be a detective in the first place.

Having spent many happy weeks poking about in Chasing Mai, I found this to be a welcome return visit to one of my favorite cities. Characters were believable, entertaining and so true to my experiences in Chasing Mai. As a nurse, I loved the setting of hospital and medical backdrop. The inspection was so reminiscent of JCAHO in the USA, anyone ever experiencing one will relate. The story picqued my interest and kept drawing me into the tale of a would be detective/hospital nurse ethicist. I certainly hope that the series will continue! One woman, multiple dead husbands with the same name, leads to some great unraveling of a suspected murder. Sabai dee!

Normally Mel and Angie wouldn't be caught dead at a beauty pageant, but when their bakery is asked to provide cupcakes for the 75th annual Sweet Tiara contest, they can't say no. Between cooking up a daily display for the three-day event and sponsoring a cupcake creation challenge for the participants, Fairy Tale Cupcakes will get great publicity. A high-strung judge targets Lupe, a young friend of Mel and Angie's, at the competition, though, and aims to take her out - by any means necessary.

After a cupcake-flinging fiasco at a photo shoot for a local magazine, Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura agree to make amends by hosting a week-long corporate boot camp at Fairy Tale Cupcakes. The idea is the brainchild of billionaire Ian Hannigan, new owner of SWS, a lifestyle magazine that chronicles the lives of Scottsdale's rich and famous. He's assigned his staff to a team-building week of making cupcakes for charity. It's clear that the staff would rather be doing just about anything other than frosting baked goods.
