In her small early-19th-century Welsh town, there is no one quite like Morgana. She is small and quick and pretty enough to attract a suitor, but there are things that set her apart from other girls. Though her mind is sharp she has not spoken since she was a young girl. Her silence is a mystery, as well as her magic - the household objects that seem to move at her command, the bad luck that visits those who do her ill. Concerned for her safety, her mother is anxious to see Morgana married....

I seldom give negative reviews. The only way I got through this book was skip most of the middle. When I got to the end I didn't feel I had missed anything. Reading this book was like trying to run through mud.

What disappointed you about Owlflight?

I'm not sure which was worse, the narrator or the slow start. After suffering for the first 3 chapters, I could go no further.

Has Owlflight turned you off from other books in this genre?

I've enjoyed several of Mercedes Lackey's other books. It felt like she churned this out to keep her publisher happy. I'll be much more careful about buying any of her books in the future.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator, like the story, droned on.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None that I found
