My Man Jeeves, first published in 1919, introduced the world to affable, indolent Bertie Wooster and his precise, capable valet, Jeeves. Some of the finest examples of humorous writing found in English literature are woven around the relationship between these two men of very different classes and temperaments. Where Bertie is impetuous and feeble, Jeeves is coolheaded and poised.

We skipped right over the whole fiancée thing and went straight from girlfriend to wife. At least, I think that's what happened. I woke up after my brother's Vegas wedding reception with my luscious girlfriend in bed with me. We're both wearing wedding rings. So is her coworker, Josh. And our Vegas chauffeur, Geordi. Who the hell am I married to? Unraveling this mystery will be as difficult as figuring out why Amanda and I are having panic attacks over the thought of being husband and wife.

Former LAPD lieutenant Peter Decker is relishing the quiet and slow pace of his new job with the Greenbury police department. The work is low stress and engaging, and it's been almost a year since the last murder in this sleepy upstate New York town. Then the body of a nude man is found deep within the woods, shattering Decker's peace. The death appears to be a suicide - a single shot to the head, the gun by his side. But until the coroner's ruling, the scene must be treated as a suspicious crime.

I enjoy all of Faye Kellerman's characters but I'm especially fond of Gabe, who appears in this book in a single line. So many questions: Has Gabe learned Farsi? Has he converted? Is Yasmine studying for a singing career or medicine. Please, Ms. Kellerman, in the next book more Gabe, and more Yasmine!! Mr. Ferrone needs to work on his female voices.

One of Heinlein's best-loved works, The Rolling Stones follows the rollicking adventures of the Stone family as they tour the solar system. It doesn't seem likely for twins to have the same middle name. Even so, it's clear that Castor and Pollux Stone both have "Trouble" written in that spot on their birth certificates. Of course, anyone who's met their grandmother Hazel would know they came by it honestly.

I read this when I was a teenager, and I'm stll pissed that Luna City has not been founded yet. It made some errors, we know now, about our solar system, but even in 2016 it is a "thumping good adventure story." The narrator did not do the women justice, and the 3 women are, arguably, the truly central characters. Perhaps it would have been better if a woman had read it instead of Mr. Weiner.

Now that Pern can look forward to a future without the threat of Threadfall, the people are free to leave their protective stone holds and spread across more of the planet, as well as improve their lives with the newly discovered ancient technology. Not everyone is happy, though. Some resist the change, and consider anything new to be an "abomination".
