His interest in her was purely professional...or so he told himself. Nash Kirkland had sought out Morgana Donovan, self-proclaimed witch, to help him research his latest screenplay. The hardheaded skeptic didn't believe for a minute she was what she professed to be, but Nash somehow found himself falling under her bewitching spell. Nash had never trusted his feelings. How could he be sure the irresistible passion he felt was real and not just some conjurer's trick?

It's been years since I read any Nora Roberts. Loved her take on a family of witches, but found the story lacking suspense and excitement. The first book was kind of boring. The second book had a little more action w/the undercover case they worked, buy still fell short of what I was looking for.

The one thing i really HATED was the narrator's male voice and that had a BIG impact on how little I enjoyed the books. Her male voice sounded like a prepubescent boy and it ruined the visualization of the two main male characters being successful attractive men. I skipped most of the love scenes.

I'm left wishing for a better story for these characters.

I was looking forward to this book, to some romance and ghostly mystery, but sadly ended up disappointed. The romance developed way too fast. Even thought there was a lot of sex, the two main characters just didn't project any chemistry to me. The Narrator was somewhat monotone in her reading and her male voices were not good. I cringed every time she spoke as the two main male characters. The most troubling part of this story was the main male character's temper. He grad the main female character several time hard enough to leave bruising. At one point, he actually spanked her, because "she was being childish". WTF! She later apologized for her "childish" behavior. In fact, each time his temper flared, she was made to be the cause of it. THIS IS AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP! *** SPOILER AHEAD. She was tiptoeing around him even before he was possessed.

Sadly, the series stories started to fizzle out (get weaker) after the second book for me. This one was the worst one by far. The main male character was not one of the brothers from the previous three books, so we didn't know him, but very little time was spent on character development. The female character wasn't as "magical" as the other three books mates, which was disappointing. W/o giving anything away, the threat story line was weak and it's resolution anticlimactic.

LASTLY... the audio recording of the of the main male character was louder in volume than the female character. I had to keep adjusting my volume when listening on my headphones.

What did you love best about Rituals?

Actually, Rituals which is the 5th and last book in the series was the book I least liked. Yes, it answered the last remaining questions, but it lacked something... sorry not sure what. I just felt like the story line fizzled out towards the end.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved both the story across all five books and all the characters (good and bad).

Any additional comments?

the story mentioned Gabriel’s size so many time... i would to see who the writer would cast as Gabriel.

Would you listen to Rook again? Why?

Yes. Probably to see if I missed anything the first time.

What did you like best about this story?

The character, because they were well written.

Which scene was your favorite?

The personal scenes between the main two characters, because I was looking for romance and their personal interaction. I only wish the story contained a little more heat.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not moved, but very interested in the parts were they talked about the fragments of "history" they found.

Any additional comments?

I found the concept of a future were society (void of technology) would developed to mimic history hard to believe. Fashion ideas like powdered wigs and corsets are very specific things and I just can't image them popping up again. And why are woman back to being the property of their fathers and husbands?

One of the reviews said this was a ripoff of the Scarlet Pimpernel and I think setting this story in future society (void of technology) was the writers way of make this a "new story".

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. This second book in the series was lacking in character development. I liked the lead male character from this book in the first book, but found him disappointing in this book. The lead female character was not to be liking.

What could Abbie Zanders have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Based on the first book, i expected a similar type of story w/a strong female character and it just wasn't. For someone who lived w/her condition all for years, she wasn't very smart.

Which character – as performed by Aiden Snow – was your favorite?

I liked Aiden Snow's performance and will seek out his books.

What would have made Truly, Madly, Whiskey better?

Disappointed, just didn't like the main guy's dialog. Found myself skipping overly descriptive and/or repetitive sections. At some point, I just couldn't wait for it to be over.

Has Truly, Madly, Whiskey turned you off from other books in this genre?

no. just this writer.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Paul Woodson?

I'm not that familiar w/narrators yet, so I can't answer this.

What character would you cut from Truly, Madly, Whiskey?

none, because I don't think that was the problem for me.
