Matt: "When I lost Rory, I lost everything. Her father ripped her away from me, and I didn't see her again for three long years." Rory: My heart stopped the second I heard about the explosion, and it didn't beat again until I knew Matt was safe. But even as my prayers were answered, my heart hurt for him. While I couldn't stop Matt's pain at losing Tanner, maybe I could stop my father from destroying the MC.

I don’t even know where to start with this one. I really liked the series in the beginning but I just feel this book, and the last, were rushed. I wish there was a little more imagination and depth in the storyline.

Spoilers*****

First, why would Rory think by giving her father $200+million thus helping him become Governor will solve her problems? Wouldn’t giving him more power and influence do you more harm than good? Not to mention the fact that everyone thinks this is a brilliant idea. He was a huge pain in the butt being just the mayor. Now he has all the assets of the state. Secondly, is no one upset a little girl got shot? It’s like she scraped her knee. No one seems to be that concerned about it. I would think family services would be at the hospital taking her away immediately. The paramedics have to keep saying your daughter has been shot we need to go to the hospital. Also, why would Bash not go to the hospital with his poor daughter. I mean I understand the club is important but I would think your daughter getting shot would trump that. What is she six years old? I just found it astounding.

The heroine was so whiny! She kept wondering why Eric liked her and I wondered the exact same thing. I thought she was extremely naïve and one sided. I didn’t find anything likable about her. Sure, she was driven and focused but that was it. I just didn’t get it.

I am a fan of her books. This one however, was a little all over the place. The first half of the book had structure and it was good. The second half was jumbled. It was hard to follow and had way too much going on. I don’t want to give any spoilers but the past events and the discovery was confusing. Too many characters and honestly I had to keep going back to remember who people were.
I wish she just would’ve simplified and just kept with more of a streamlined story. Also, Trace in the first half of the story was a completely different person than he was in the second half. I wish that would have been a more gradual change but it was just night and day...overnight. I felt like it was two separate books.

Luke Evans is a heartbreaker. I didn't want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out. He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth. I would've fallen in love with him at a distance. Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I've ever done.

I have read a lot of books with various types of main characters. These two had to be the most immature that I have ever come across. My twelve year old is more mature than the characters in this book. It was just chapter after chapter of ridiculous angsty fights. The selfishness and sheer meanness is astounding.
You would think her brother would want better for her but he encourages his friend. I wanted to stop after her attack. What Luke said to her and how he treated her was certainly not the actions of a man that is caring. I just couldn’t finish it after 3/4 of the story. I didn’t see much value in either character. They are both awful so there is no interest in their HEA.

The main characters are not even together for 90 percent of the book. There are no flashbacks of them from the past. There really is just not much of a story. It could have been ALOT better. This is my second book of the series and so far I am not impressed. I may in the future try another but for now I am done. Just too shallow of a story. There is no development.

Wow, I can't believe I finished it. The main female lead was possibly the most self obsessed and selfish character ever. Not once (until the epilogue) did she once worry or show empathy towards anyone. She was terrible and for her not even to remember their first meeting was just incredible. I honestly have no clue what Bruno saw in her at all. I understand she was going through a lot but the simple fact that she took no one else's feelings into consideration EVER was just staggering. She was even terrible to the nurses during chemo. What did they do? Not to mention she kept up with her prejudiced judgments over Bruno when he showed her nothing but true compassion and love. I hated her character.

When your life is a hot mess at 20, it's cute. At 27...well, not so much. It's just that my lofty dreams - making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily - have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I've decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I've settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry. That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town's new vet.
