I've made a living playing by the rules only when the clock is ticking, the ball has been snapped, and I'm cleat-deep in AstroTurf. But I screwed up last year. I went too far with the girls and the partying and the benders. As a result, the team owner sentenced me to live in some gated, Floridian retirement village until I can "calm down". If I lay low and repair my reputation, I won't get cut. It's that simple. For the first time in my life, I was living by someone else's rules, and then she showed up for the summer.

I liked the first book. I did not like the second at all. I decided to give the third a shot. It got worse. These people are adults correct? The “heroine” was extremely weak, whiny, and stuck up.
I was agitated for most of the book. Ridiculous overreacting and drama that could be cleared up quickly by just an adult conversation. The female lead would walk out and ghost him for days because of an imagined slight that could have been clarified by just a one minute conversation. I hate characters like this. Not to mention the fact the male lead is there apologizing for nothing. This is my last book by this author. Real women read your books. Don’t insult your readers by giving them high maintenance self righteous heroines who stamp their feet when they don’t get their way.

I have no other words other than...just dumb. The story is ridiculous. It is written like a really stupid LONG porno. I could not finish. There is no depth in ANY character. Everyone is just trying, really hard, to be the “coolest” versions of themselves but just read like douchebags. It is all no big deal and everyone who is not me is a p****. I feel like the author watches a lot of TV and does not get out much. She based this book on what she imagines the “cool kids” world looks like. It just made me angry because of the absurdity. I hope that they mature and the storyline gets better. I only made it about two hours in and just couldn’t finish it.

She should have written this as a novella and Tia and Talon as a book. This was pretty boring as the series goes. It just kept going. I feel the author missed some opportunities to make the story more exciting. She could have at least showed the other characters lives to give a glimpse into their lives. I like the series but was very disappointed in this one. It was just blah.

This book was OK. The one thing I absolutely cannot stand about adult books is when the main characters act like they’re 12. If these people are supposed to be so in love and are contemplating marriage why can’t they just talk to each other? I hate books where someone thinks there’s a big betrayal and instead of discussing it they just completely cut the other person off without any discussion. These people are supposed to be adults and my 12-year-old kid is more mature.

I don’t even know where to start with this one. I really liked the series in the beginning but I just feel this book, and the last, were rushed. I wish there was a little more imagination and depth in the storyline.

Spoilers*****

First, why would Rory think by giving her father $200+million thus helping him become Governor will solve her problems? Wouldn’t giving him more power and influence do you more harm than good? Not to mention the fact that everyone thinks this is a brilliant idea. He was a huge pain in the butt being just the mayor. Now he has all the assets of the state. Secondly, is no one upset a little girl got shot? It’s like she scraped her knee. No one seems to be that concerned about it. I would think family services would be at the hospital taking her away immediately. The paramedics have to keep saying your daughter has been shot we need to go to the hospital. Also, why would Bash not go to the hospital with his poor daughter. I mean I understand the club is important but I would think your daughter getting shot would trump that. What is she six years old? I just found it astounding.
