I don't know what the humans are so cranky about. Their enclosures are large, they ingest over 1,000 calories per day, and they're allowed to mate. Plus, they have me: an Autonomous Servile Unit, housed in a mobile/bipedal chassis. I do my job well: keep the humans healthy and happy.

Loved the story and the narration was very good and lively. The relationship between Wah and Hey you was enjoyable. Good scifi. But, then the heavy profanity hits, like to much salt on a tasty dish. Not needed. I have seen this particular recipe many times. Do sales increase with profanity I wonder. other then the heavy profanity it was great.

The Imperium; a million worlds, trillions upon trillions of humans and aliens, an empire that dominates half the galaxy... an empire that is falling into chaos, revolution and civil war. Only a handful of people are struggling to keep the Imperium together, knowing that the brutality of its rule is infinitively preferable to the chaos of its fall. This is their story. Mariko and her sister were independent shippers and ace pilots, until they ran afoul of the law on a minor planet and ended up jailed and enslaved.

I couldn't do it.This started out as one of the most boring starts of a book that I have heard in a long time. Add in the profanity class.... I could not take it. If you enjoy profanity just for the sake of hearing it and dont mind long political intrigue, to get things started. Then this may be for you.

Andrew "Ender" Wiggin was not the only child in the Battle School; he was just the best of the best. In this book, Card tells the story of another of those precocious generals, the one they called Bean, the one who became Ender's right hand, part of his team, in the final battle against the Buggers. Bean's past was a battle just to survive. His success brought him to the attention of the Battle School's recruiters.

Well done, but.... Even though it does well as a side story that does well in filling in knowledge of the over all story, I felt it had a little to much profanity for a story about mostly young people. I realize some of them had lives that hardened them but I still felt the level of profanity was high. Other then that it was a good story that was well read.

This is book two of this series and it was written and read as well as the first book, but in the first book the focus was on the story and in the second we seem a bit more focused on the sexual lives of the characters and addition of more profanity. Maybe the writer thought that would spice the story up. Throwing refuse in a well made dish does not make the dish taste better.
