It’s Bastille Day in France, and the private French space agency Galactus - France’s answer to Space X, owned by the eccentric treasure hunter Jean-Pierre Broussard - has just sent a satellite payload into orbit. Billed as a “communications” satellite, it harbors a frightening reality: a nuclear electromagnetic pulse has been hidden aboard. In days, when the satellite is in position, Galactus’s head and Broussard’s second in command, Dr. Neveah Patil, will have the power to lay waste to the world with her EMP, and create her own immortality with the Holy Grail.

This is a case of following a series and expecting every story to be good. This one was garbage. I suffered through waiting for some surprise or amazement. Nonetheless i was disappointed to the end. The end that offered no freakin closure for one of the plot lines.

I have listened to many in this series. Not for the faint at heart. I was excited to this one with a Georgia backdrop, albeit the cities and hospitals are made up. This was chuck full of bad guys and nearly no one to trust. Was great to follow Daniel from the last book as he got to get more closure and find love while investigating the most gruesome of crimes. Great suspense. I just wish they would spring for a male narrator. This one really sucks at male voices.

So it ends. I will say this book smacks of Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series. Not sure which cane first but the many ‘like’ scenarios confused my brain as to which story I was listening to. All in all a decent story with a ridiculous amount of sex. Can’t believe I said that but it’s true. Most of it was predictable but that’s what I expect from a lot in this genre. I rated the performance a two simply because when Nick voiced the female character, she sounded like Gollum from lord of the rings. Wasn’t told keen on his announcer voice either. I loved the narration in the previous book. This one, not so much.

Decent start to a series but this main character, Miranda is part heroin and part irritant. Very light on intrigue as their are not so shuttle clues dropped along the way. Not sure if I will continue the series. I find sometimes they start slow and the write no evolves. I hope that’s the case if I continue this journey. Also, These so called Georgia accents worked my nerves. Sounded more Gone With the Wind than metro Atlanta.

This was an enjoyable new series that spun off from the Chicagoland Vampires. Although I do miss much of the original crew, I am glad to see evolution so to speak, before things got dull and too redundant. Enjoyed the story telling but really did not like the narration. She is definitely no Sophie Eastlake. Grrrr.

This is the 1st of a series and generally that is not a concern for me, but i am struggling to care enough about this story to listed too and pay for 2 more books. I would like to know how, it ends, so my curiosity may win out. This is my first book by this author and its not an instant love affair. Not sure I love her writing style, as a few times I felt like she jumped around a bit and i had to rewind to learn who was talking and about what. The characters at this point are fair, liking Leonidas a lot more than his female counterpart(see, I already forgot her name). She was mostly selfish and at some points just really dumb, but i dont want to give to much information on that, but man "common sense, ain't that common" with this chick. I hope she gets brighter and less selfish as this series progresses - thats if i get the next 2 on sale and decide to dive back in. Today, i stand at the hesistant stage.

This has to be the lamest version of vampire life I have ever encountered. Throw in the horrible characters and you just have a hot mess. I tossed this back in to the Romance Package pile. I am way too much of a feminist to ever relate to these characters - the main character who gets cheated on by the fiancé and her bridesmaid. Plus it’s made worse by her making excuses for being treated badly. I just couldn’t continue. Delete quick And get something more palatable. Later in the book, the dummy does something really dumb and I lost it. I can’t reveal but, lady writer person, get real. Not my house! Not my car! Nothing!!

I can’t even tell you how good or not good the story is due to the wretched narration. I have read or rather listened to a few of things. I find the narration of the female voices to be painful to listen to. Maybe even more so in this one because I was sick of this woman whining. The story was pretty predictable too. This was so far the weakest of these stories. Hopefully the next one will be better. Honestly these could be short stories without the redundancy’s and overt whining.
