We have found the enemy and we are it. We are own worst enemy. Jesus came to save us from ourselves. All of these thoughts go through my mind as I consider this amazing book by Angela Hunt that I just listened to. Excellently written. The characters are well-developed and the storyline was well thought through. I liked the different personalities in the book. It's very much like what we find in real life. The end was not obvious either and I liked the suspense.

I read this set of books twice and now I'm listening to it. The books are so encouraging and the deeds and character of our Lord are magnified.

This is a great series about the civil war, mankind, and faith in Jesus. It makes you think and dig deep into your own soul and consider your own faith.

For me it started off slow and sometimes I couldn't see the connection between the middle aged character and who they were in their youth but in the end it made more sense. There was plenty of wisdom shared through the characters and very thought provoking even if your own family history doesn't compare at all. Overall it was excellent and made me think about the last 100 years or so in general and in a more personal way. Excellent narration too! So glad I was able to listen to it! I don't know where I would have found the time to read it myself.
