- An Action Packed Thriller
- By: Peter J. Thompson
- Narrated by: Gary Tiedemann
- Length: 10 hrs and 51 mins
Zach Monaghan just became a target. Under witness protection from his father’s whistle-blowing, his reckless desire to win back a normal life compels him to run away. But escaping his new identity won’t last long if two contract killers catch up to him. Richard “Birdman” Byrd has worked hand-in-hand with his tormentor Gorski for years. Siphoning away money and sending assassins to hunt down the Monaghans could be his only way out of the crooked partnership. But if Birdman doesn’t watch himself, the verbal abuse he’s received for years could turn deadly.
A bit predictable...

I went into this book completely blind. Honestly, I didn't mean to sign up for this tour, but whoa, am I ever glad I did! I've never been one for audiobooks because I get so distracted, but while listening to this one, I was able to work on some crochet orders I had. I started the book on a Tuesday and by mid-Thursday, I was finished. I paused it on my computer, downloaded the Audible app on my phone and took my phone with me while cooking dinner just so I could listen to the book! Once dinner was over and the kitchen cleaned up, I opened it back up on my computer to finish listening to it! This book was fantastic! Constant thrills, constantly wondering what was going to happen next.
Again, not one for a lot of thriller books, I tend to stick with romance and other books like that. But wow!! This was an awesome fast-paced, action-packed, heart-pounding book. All of the characters were well thought out, in my opinion, with awesome backstories of their own.
I really enjoyed listening to this narrator! He brought the characters to life with his various accents and different voices. The heightened suspense of the book really kept me on edge and I notably enjoyed this book!

Traditions are important. Especially in the South. College football. Rivalries. Tailgating. Halftime shows. Some things just don’t change. Until Reese Holland shows up with her long legs and no-bullshit attitude to audition for the prestigious all-male Rodner University snare line. It doesn’t matter how much hazing she has to endure from Laird Bronson, with his narrowed green eyes and arrogant smirk. She wants that damn spot, and she’s more than good enough to earn it. She expects there to be tension. Even friction. But not sparks hot enough to burn the entire campus down.
All the FEELS!!!

What made the experience of listening to Drumline the most enjoyable?
The narrators. They did an exceptional job at narrating this book and their voices were so smooth.
What did you like best about this story?
The palpableness of this book. It was so real.
Have you listened to any of Stephen Dexter and Tracy Marks ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't ever listened to any of their other narrations before. This was a great first start!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, of course. However, unfortunately I am never able to listen to books in 1 sitting with 3 kiddos lol
Any additional comments?
Another new to me author and narrator. This story was palpable in all aspects: The tension, the conflict, the attraction and the narrator made it even better I thought. Everything felt so real. I really really enjoyed this book. I will go and read all of Stacy Kestwick's books now! Reading "sports" books are some of my favorite books to read, so I figured I might as well give a book about a drumline a chance. In fact, one of my favorite movies happens to be the movie, Drumline, starring Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones. I figured this book would be amazing as well, and boy was I right!! I listened to this audiobook version of the book, and the narrators both did such a wonderful job! The quality of the audio was great and it turned out to be a fun listening experience and an amazing way to pass the time while waiting at my sons wrestling practice, since I wait in the car! Drumline was sexy and had just enough angst to keep me hooked!

Beautifully Sad Book
The emotions in this book are totally real. I thought this story was absolutely beautifully written. My eyes are burning from crying so much while listening to this book. Audiobooks are something that I've never really been into, other than listening to them while driving on a long road trip, however, my aunt had asked me to make some crochet hats that she can give to one of the local hospitals in February for Heart Health Month (all red hats for preemies and up) so I figured I should knock some audiobooks out since I very well can't READ while crocheting lol. I had to stop hats so many times because there were tears streaming down my face.
This story is told through the eyes of Marlee and her experiences of love and loss and being able to function again after that devastating loss.
We start off the book in the prologue, and that's when my waterworks started. In Chapter 1, we get to listen to Marlee as a little girl as her Papa takes her and her friend Bentley fishing. Everyone has Marlee, nicknamed Birdie, on a pedastal. She had the most perfect life. She had the love of her family, and the love of her man, Bentley. Her and Bentley were happy, though it doesn't stick. I'm stopping there, because I don't want to 1) ruin the book for you and 2) start crying again.
Ms. Bellus wrote an amazing book. It has everything you could want for a tear-jerker book. This emotional story will absolutely suck me in. I think this book will make you think about life and most definitely value all those little moment, and value those people in your life who mean the most to you, because you absolutely never know when something could change that happiness.
Ms. Laurel did an awesome job narrating this book. You could most definitely tell when she was doing different people's voices. I've never heard someone capture the emotions as good as Ms. Laurel did.
I would definitely recommend this book, whether you want to read a book, or want a good audiobook! <3
