Once Leota's garden was a place of beauty - where flowers bloomed and hope thrived. It was her refuge from the deep wounds inflicted by a devastating war, her sanctuary where she knelt before a loving God and prayed for the children who couldn't understand her silent sacrifices. At 83, Leota is alone; her beloved garden is in ruins. All her efforts to reconcile with her adult children have been fruitless. She voices her despair to a loving Father, her only friend. And God brings a wind of change through unlikely means....

I am a Francine Rivers fan but this book had so much repetitive whinning that I wanted to stop after chapter 3!

I stuck it out and although nicely crafted with the unexpected death of Leota, much to my dissappointment, it ended well.

Not my favorite book but would not recommend for a book club.

Still a Francine Rivers fan

A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

The storyline was good and the humor was very nice and appropriately placed in the story. I have read numerous books by Francine Rivers, although this was good it was not my most favorite one by her. I love the transformation in all the main characters as well as the display of forgiveness and compassion from them all. Jasper was one of my favorites and if I had to chose a father, I would want him to be like Jasper.

I am a fan and will contiue to be a fan!

This was my first book by Carl Weber and I will have to try "one" more by him before I count him out. This had so many unrealist storylines and portrayed our black men in a totally volunerable position from beginning to end! I did not like it and would not recommend it to my book club or friends. I think he has greater potential as a writer.

B.A. Paris really hit the mark with this one. I can usually predict the ending but I DID NOT see this one coming~ It was hard to put this book down. Crafted very masterfully and kept me engaged from beginning to end!

Loved it and recommend this book to anyone who loves a very good mystery and I loved that fact that all the abuse to Grace was mostly varbally without the blood and bruises.

I am a B.A. Paris fan now~!

I loved this story and the author did a brilliant job with the surprising twist. The narrator was nothing short of dynamic and an amazing reader and he ability to switch characters brought the book to life.

This was my first book by this author and I definitely going to check out some of her other books. This book touched on so many lives for battered women and the people who turn a blind eye all for the sake of "appearance" and Kelly captured the realization of this very well.

Great storyline and I loved Sab's character most of all!

It is a "must read"!

Loved it from beginning to end! This was so refreshing and entertaining. I laughed all the way through the entire book. I was so real and truly showed the vulnerable side of even the most spiritual person. We are human and even with the most noble intentions our flesh is weak when it comes to the matter of the heart. I love the way the author showed the forgiveness of Joe and his willingness to hold fast to his commitment and trust in God to see what Beverly could not see. He had enough faith for the both of them and it paid off in the end. I want my book club to read this book because I can only imagine the discussion it will generate. I have come to love the author and this is my 3rd book i have read by her and I have not been disappointed yet! The narrator was awesome as well and helped bring this book more life if possible, great team!'' Off to find another book of hers to read :)

This is a must read! I had not read a book by this author and I am so happy that I did. It was refreshing, funny, real life like and I could see the characters personalities jump off of the pages. I laughed Maggie and her father was simply entertaining and his character is one that I would love to just sit out on the porch and listen to him speak all day long. California Jones is such a loveable character and he has the disposition that "any" woman in her right mind would love to have a a husband. He was gentle, kind, compassionate, patient, understanding and that made him handsome by it self! I closer I got to the end of this book the more I was wanting it to never end. This was by far one of the BEST narrated books I have read in a very long time. Together the author and narrator made this story come to life for me! I will definitely read another one of her books in hopes she has the same narrator.

A very, very, very satisfied customer and I want my book club to read this book because it will produce some great discussions!

A new fan,
