Jina Modell is assigned to work as an on-site drone operator in the field with a GO-team, an elite paramilitary unit. Team leader Levi doesn't have much confidence in Jina making it through the rigors of training. In the following months, however, she begins to thrive in her new environment, displaying a grit and courage that wins her the admiration of her hardened, battle-worn teammates. Linda Howard is becoming one of my favorite authors. I have now finished five of her books and I have enjoyed them all. This one made me want to stand a little straighter and not take anyone’s gruff while bringing me to tears and making me laugh. Thank you for this book.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

When this came across my recommended books I honestly didn’t think it was for me. Happy to say that I was wrong.

As an Ender, one of my father's Elite guards, it's my job to do as I'm told. When my older sister is sent as an ambassador to the realm of the water elementals - the Deep - I have no choice but to accompany her as her bodyguard. There are only a few things I know for sure. The ocean may be beautiful, but lurking in its depths are monsters to fear, the water I tread is teaming with danger and I am on my own. With no one to help, and no one to trust, I have to find a way to keep my sister safe, and stop a civil war.

Enjoyed the fresh take of the storyline in the first book of this series and I am just as pleased with book two.

For all the bodies she's encountering, you'd think beat cop Joanne Walker works in Homicide. But no, Joanne's a reluctant shaman who last saved mankind three months ago; surely she deserves more of a break! Yet, incredibly, "Armageddon, Take Two" is mere days away.

After listening to book one, I thought well now I have to see what's next to decide if it's a good series. I just bought book three. It's different. It's fun.
