I'm the bastard child, son to the mistress, my father's backup heir to the Kingston empire. He sent me to Harvard. I left and became a Navy SEAL, but I'm back now, and I finished school on my own dime. I'm now the right-hand man to Grayson Bennett, the billionaire who runs the Bennett Empire. I'm now a few months from being a billionaire myself. I don't need my father's company or his love. My "brother" can have it. I will never go back there. I will never be the mistake my father made, the way he was the mistake my mother made.

I've never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn't mean I wanted to live in it. Maybe everyone wants what they can't have, but I should've thought it over before I unlocked the door to their forbidden world. Number One is mostly silent. He watches me very carefully. Number Two is mostly gentle. But it's the other side of him I like best. Number Three is mostly reserved. It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.

She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse - and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is.

What disappointed you about This Man Confessed?

The whole story all 3 let Jesse run all over Ava females coming to the flat, coming to their wedding, pretending to be pregnant with his child actually flooring her in a restaurant seriously who does that come JODI seriously

What was most disappointing about Jodi Ellen Malpas’s story?

The whole story how he did whatever and Ava crawled in a shell and took it all crying like a sad female that she was. If Jodi thinks this kind of behavior is acceptable she needs a reality check

What three words best describe Edita Brychta’s performance?

She was good

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from This Man Confessed?

When Jesse was getting beat by Sarah Ava should have left and when they got married she should have left him alone 2 books back. Just SMH I've read and listened to these books several times and still get pissed off at the same scenes

Any additional comments?

Maybe Jodi Ellen Malpas have self-esteem issues because Ava sure does

Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward - a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.

Jesse Ward drowned her with his intensity and blindsided her with his passion, but he kept her away from his dark secrets and broken soul. Leaving him was the only way Ava O'Shea could survive. She should have known that Jesse Ward is impossible to escape - and now he's back in her life, determined to remind her of the sensual pleasures they had shared. Ava is equally determined to get at the truth beneath this man's steely exterior. That means letting herself get close to the Lord of the Manor once more.

Would you listen to Beneath This Man again? Why?

I did and I got really pissed off at Ava on how simple minded she is, how she let Jesse run all over her. How she should have left him when he was getting beat by Sarah and females coming to his home and he says nothing. I really wish she was stronger there's no way I would have let anyone Treat me like he treated her. When someone drugged her he blamed her it's like she was afraid to make him angry

Who was your favorite character and why?

I taught I liked Kate but she was just as stupid as Ava

Which scene was your favorite?

When Ava punched Sarah

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It pissed me off several times

I'm good in a boardroom, but I'm better in the bedroom. Much better. I can charm the skirt off any woman in one encounter. I'll even give her an orgasm before I put her in a cab. Or three. No more or she'll start making plans for the future and I'm not into that. Or I wasn't until Genevive Fasbender. She's the first woman in five years that I want to spend the whole night with. And she's the first woman who's told me I'm not what she wants in a lover, even after multiple O's.

Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own. The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.
