Then there's a bard without a song in her heart but with a very adorable and fuzzy tail, an assassin who fears not the night but is terrified of chickens, and a mighty fighter more frightened of her sword than of her chain-mail bikini. I have no idea what is going on in this story. 10 hours in and I'm still lost. It flits from here to there seemly at random, and parts from the first 20 minutes seemingly have no real effect on anything. maybe I'm just an idiot, but I'm having real trouble keeping track of the numerous characters and titles. I fear I'll not be able to stay with this story much longer and thus will not complete the book. Nick does an excellent job with narration as always, and I fault him not at all.

I don't want to post any spoilers, but the and pissed me off horribly and the epilogue only slightly blunted that feeling.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

I really wanted to like this book. I loved the Martian and preordered the audio book hoping this would capture the same magic. I found myself slightly dissappointed. Overall, I appreciate the explanations of the science and engineering that's going on at points in the story, but sometimes it felt like it was under explained, others over explained. At certain points the physics are ignored all together, which I assume was for the sake of letting the story move along. at the end of the day, it was a reasonably entertaining story, but not as enthralling by Half as The Martian was.
