Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Where does Al Franken, Giant of the Senate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved his book, one of my favorite audible listens & that's saying something!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Al Franken, Giant of the Senate?

Senator Franken's honesty & moral compass that guides him through his decisions & life! That fact that he has to tone down, if not hide his sense of humor is such a shame, because that is what we need more of in this life! Though he fights his own nature to accomplish the greater good, he learns about so many issues & then goes to work to make a positive difference in the lives of the people he represents. There is just so much ridiculous maneuvering that had to be done to accomplish anything! Senator Al Franken is person of great moral fortitude, to be able to jump so many hurdles & he just keeps on trying, with a smile on his face & a joke on his lips & a heart that truly cares for others!

What does Al Franken bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like being able to hear him address the issues that he feels really needs to be told to the public! Having him read his book, just makes it so much easier to really understand the amount of poppycock he has to deal with & just how much doing the best he can at his job really means to him!

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

It takes so many good, dedicated, hard working people to help one man try to do great things!

Any additional comments?

All Franken is the kind of man I want to be President of this Country!

I often wonder, as I listen to these books... What kind of crazy, sick, twisted, warped, thoughts must be rolling around in Tim Dorsey's head on a daily basis. To come up with all those highly inventive ways to kill. Does he just walk the aisles of Home Depot for inspiration?!? Serge is just a moral enforcer of epic proportion, you gotta love the guy! I really hope Triggerfish Twist is released soon! Thanks for all the great books! Highly Recommended!

I loved it! I love them all! I know very little of world history. If I knew more, I know these books would be even better, if that was possible. From the little I do know, it is fun to hear the names and to have Jackie spending time with these characters. It makes you feel like you know a little secrect and you are, in a small way, involved in these historical moments in time. Not only are these books fun all on their own, they give you a idea of what was going on all over the world, a much larger point of view of the time period. I hope they just keep on going until Jackie is old and grey! Thanks for writing such great books and choosing the PERFECT narrator for them!

Carolyn Meyer's historical fiction, such as Marie, Dancing, is popular for its unique perspectives. Loving Will Shakespeare is the tale of Agnes Anne Hathaway. There are few details known about the girl who - though eight years his senior - would eventually become wife to the Bard. Meyer's imagining of her story will inspire listeners to learn more.

Hooked me right away! Has a great Narrator, very smooth! The Narrator sounds like she is telling the story, not reading it. I enjoyed this Audiobook and would recommend it to others! Great writing!

Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

For the many people who are interested in learning more about Buddhism, here is a primer on Buddhism and Buddhist practice written in a deceptively simple manner, with an engaging, gentle humor and flavor. Adrienne Howley's purpose is to demystify Buddhism, stripping away the layers of ritual and iconography that have grown up around it over the centuries, and to present the original, basic tenets and practices.
