After the accident, the chief was pushing me to retire. Being a firefighter was all I had ever wanted, what I lived for. Well, other than my 12-year-old daughter, Abby. Raising her as a single dad, much less a busy firefighter, wasn't easy, but life never is. Then a call came in from an all-too-familiar area code. I was being beckoned back to my hometown, back to Canon. I had left that small town years ago, leaving behind a lot, including...her.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance story, which happens to be my favorite sub-genre. This is my first from Lacy Hart. It kept me interested through the whole book and the narrators really brought it to life. Great, fast-paced book. I would definitely recommend it and especially in audiobook!

Ruby Rivers and La Petite Mort did incredible with narration. He has such a sexy voice. They both were great with matching the moods.

This book was so good! It was recommended by a friend, so thought i would try it out. I am so glad I did. I cannot imagine what Amanda had to go through. It takes her a minute, but she ends up being so strong. Chase was an actor who got her through the really bad times, although in real life they never even knew each other. They end up meeting under circumstances that were not the norm. Feelings develop and thank goodness this story ended with a HEA. So emotional throughout, they both deserved a HEA. The narrators, Andrew and Shannon, were amazing. They were able to pull me further into the story amd make me feel as if I were there! I am so glad I listened to this book!!

I have a secret. A secret that chased me away from my home, my family, away from the only man I've ever loved. I took that secret and pushed it down inside of me.So far down, that it never had a chance of coming out. That dirty little secret was like a seed. A seed that took root and grew to become a piece of me. But what happens when that secret has finally outgrown me? When its vines climb over every wall I have in place? When it finally overfills that little spot inside of me that it's been buried in for so long now? All secrets come out eventually.

It made my heart happy to know that Torin got a happily ever after even though it wasn't in the conventional way that others get theirs. loved Torin, Casey, and Tyler!!!!
