way too much unnecessary dialogue and lengthy sex scenes. The murder mystery was never an integral part of the story, it just dwindled away. I always finish books I start but this was a tough one to listen to to the end.

LOVED this book! It is so well written and so well narrated! I struggled to get through some of the parts because of the brutal honest feelings of both parties. It made me take stock of my own feelings and responses to people of different races. Best Jodi Picoult book I've read.

What Lisa expects to be a mind-numbingly boring task turns into anything but when a missing-persons case draws her attention. The details of the case are engrossing: an entire family — father, mother, and two children — disappeared without a trace more than 28 years ago. I struggled to finish this book, it was a very predictable storyand many parts way too descriptive. The sex scenes went on too long and the narrator made them sound more like a play by play game than an intimate moment. I found the narrator very hard to listen to and didn't think she portrayed the characters very real.
