Gladwell begins with the real story of what happened between the giant and the shepherd boy those many years ago.

From the Book of Revelation to The Road Warrior, from A Canticle for Leibowitz to The Road, storytellers have long imagined the end of the world, weaving eschatological tales of catastrophe, chaos, and calamity. In doing so, these visionary authors have addressed one of the most challenging and enduring themes of imaginative fiction: The nature of life in the aftermath of total societal collapse.

An original story with a great twist at the ending. Although I hate the idea of giant spiders taking over a planet the author artfully makes you empathize with them. It's weird thinking that spiders can do what's described but it was entertaining nonetheless. The performance was impressive. Especially loved how the mad scientist was portrayed.

Probably one of the most unique stories in the series with a crazy note by the author in the end, which made the story that much more freakin awesome! I admit I wasn't a fan of the Israeli duo at first but this book does an incredible job of integrating them into the weave of characters that I enjoyed throughout the series. The authors characters are brought to life so amazingly well that I find it hard now to wait another year for the next book.

What would have made Lights Out Super Boxset: EMP Survival in a Powerless World better?

The author tries hard to focus more on the characters than on survival and in the end, he fails to deliver on both. In the first series, the protagonists are completely clueless except for one character - who, in reality, seems like he only read things out of a book. The main characters are also, not likable. I hate to say it but the pilots story seems completely unrealistic. In the second book, I HATED the main character. Anyway, if you're looking for a survivalist type story, this ISN'T IT. If you want to hear a story about characters that have ZERO humor (the interactions are all so serious its fatiguing), and almost nothing about them that makes you empathize for them - then this is your book.

Would you ever listen to anything by James Hunt again?

No.

Did Tia Rider Soresen and MIkela Drew do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes. The readings were done well.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The reading performances were very well done. If it wasn't for that, I would not have finished.
