Just as good as his other works. Looking forward to the next audiobooks in both this series and his original.

The story, the narration, the world itself is absolutely fantastic. I have never replayed a series so many times. These works haunt my dreams in a mostly good way.

nick podehl was awesome as always. the actual story was well written, conceptually. but I have a problem with a few of the characters and how you can see what the author is attempting to project them to be, not adding up to what they actually are. the MC is the best example, the author keeps trying to sell us on the idea that hes some disciplined stoic, but in reality hes an emotional wreck who is so overwhelmed he is not refraining from emotion, he is just unable to process it in its entirety.

why is this so good

it is absolutely infuriating how amazing this series is, because satiating my now elevated tastes and expectations will be near impossible.

I think the protagonists sarcasm is almost so adept as to distract you from the brilliant world and chaos in the background.

Once again an enthralling tale, that I am all to happy to both read and listen to in conjunction with an excellent narrator to bring the characters and story to proper fruition.

i loved this series, despite the male narrator sounding like a drone most of the time. the concept and turn arounds are fantastic, the characters are very well built and the memories are even better than the main storyline at times.

Out of all the female Narrators I have heard this is the first one that was not only bearable but skillful and enjoyable enough for me to enjoy and hook me into the story. The world building is fantastic though you learn much more about it in the next books. I finally came across this book again after I read it over a decade ago and couldn't pass up a fresh read and even a listen.
I only have one complaint, and that's the trumpeting or heralding at certain times of the narration, frankly it's annoying.

I deeply regret skipping around this story for months, and it is definitely one I shall have eto listen to more than once to give an accurate review, I highly recommend it.
