After the War of the Gods, the demons were cast out and fell to the world. Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

With The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson surprised listeners with a New York Times best-selling spinoff of his Mistborn audiobooks, set after the action of the trilogy, in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America. The trilogy's heroes are now figures of myth and legend, even objects of religious veneration. They are succeeded by wonderful new characters, chief among them Waxillium Ladrian, known as Wax, hereditary lord of House Ladrian.

What made the experience of listening to Kampen om tronen [The Battle for the Throne] the most enjoyable?

Note: book is in Danish, if you can't read the title, don't buy the book!
Awesome story with twists and turns that are very unexpected and unlike most books and movies these days, the good guy doesn't always win and everything doesn't work out in the end.

Which character – as performed by Martin Greis – was your favorite?

Narration was awesome, very well done.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, the book is a page turner.

Any additional comments?

Very mature theme and graphic. Constant references to rape are disturbing and were a huge turn off for me, but tried to tune that part out and enjoyed the rest.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Note: Book is in Danish. Story was good, not as great as I had hoped given the reviews I had read. Some interesting twists and turns to keep it interesting.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Enunciation in the beginning of the book was poor and loud breaths and page turning was distracting but by the middle to end of the book it was much better.

As the new story begins, Leeds and his "aspects" are hired by I3 (Innovative Information Incorporated) to recover a corpse stolen from the local morgue. But there's a catch. The corpse is that of a pioneer in the field of experimental biotechnology, a man whose work concerned the use of the human body as a massive storage device. He may have embedded something in the cells of his now dead body. And that something might be dangerous.

Main character is very likable and his "aspects " are intriguing and entertaining as well.
