As a child in small-town Oklahoma, Elizabeth Warren yearned to go to college and then become an elementary school teacher - an ambitious goal, given her family’s modest means. Early marriage and motherhood seemed to put even that dream out of reach, but 15 years later she was a distinguished law professor with a deep understanding of why people go bankrupt. Then came the phone call that changed her life: could she come to Washington, DC, to help advise Congress on rewriting the bankruptcy laws?

I'm glad I took the time to listen, and recommend it to all parties.

He convinced a bunch successful business executives to invest in an unprecedented business plan - and it turned into Marquis Jet. He sincerely offered to run a 100-mile race in Spanx to get the attention of the beautiful founder of the company - and ended up marrying her.

If you could sum up Living with a SEAL in three words, what would they be?

Must read again!

What other book might you compare Living with a SEAL to and why?

It's a workable mix of a Rich Roll's Finding Ultra, and a Maxim article written by a mouthy, young, New Yorker.

Have you listened to any of Jesse Itzler’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but if they exist I want to find them!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud plenty of times. At least once per chapter.

Any additional comments?

It couldn't have been narrated by anyone other than Itzler. His delivery and timing was perfect, even the small flaws in his speech pattern from time to time seem to match the struggles and frustration of his 30 day experiment. While reading this book I became interested in both Itzler and Seal, and found myself on the internet searching for more of their story.

An incredible but true account of achieving one of the most awe-inspiring midlife physical transformations ever

In October 2006, the night before he was to turn forty, Rich experienced a chilling glimpse of his future. Nearly fifty pounds overweight and unable to climb the stairs without stopping, he saw where his sedentary lifestyle was taking him. Most of us look the other way when granted such a moment of clarity, but not Rich.

What did you love best about Finding Ultra?

I was caught off-guard at how absorbed I became in Rich's story. I'm usually bored with autobiographies, but he told his with such humor and humility that I was rooting for him the entire time. Somehow he comes across as the guy next door, your goofy neighbor, or your favorite teacher from High School. He speaks so casually that you'd never expect him to be the elite athlete that he is.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Finding Ultra?

I can picture Rich's dad getting choked up as he watches his adult son prepare for a swim, and tells the friend how it reminded him of Rich as a child, preparing for his meets.

Which character – as performed by Rich Roll – was your favorite?

Rich, of course, but his love for Julie and his children became a character of it's own.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Rich puts himself in his friend's position, realizing how difficult it would be to swim with one arm, and not able to drag the legs for some rest. He didn't pity him, but admired him.

Any additional comments?

I would certainly read another book written by Rich Roll. I love that he read it himself, one small critique would be he needs to have more vocal range. His voice was so soft at times that it almost sounded monotone.

I did not read the print version

What did you like best about this story?

Katy Bowman might be my favorite audio author thus far. Her voice carries an inflection that would make reading the ingredient list on a cereal box sound interesting. Coupled with her hands-on experience and real life usage, her books are spot on.

Have you listened to any of Katy Bowman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to all of Katy Bowman's books, and her latest, Movement Matters, is just as great as the previous ones.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Katy has a knack of narrating which makes the listener feel as though they are in the same room, having a face to face conversation. She's honest about opinion vs. fact based science, and isn't afraid to admit, "here is the information, take it as you will"

Any additional comments?

What aspect of P. J. Ochlan’s performance would you have changed?

The information was relayed to us like a school text book is read to a class. I feel there could have been a better use of vocal changes, and some added enthusiasm. When reading letters and statements from customers (clients/fans/users?) it would be useful to begin these segments with a preemptive clause or tagline. "The following note comes from John Doe, whose journey into the Bullet Proof Diet began much as mine...."
Overall the book was enjoyable to listen too, but the narrators lack of energy left me feeling this was just another diet book, which it isn't! The information and facts behind fasting, healthy macros, and dietary fat is exciting! The ideas in this book should be read aloud with exuberance and vocal melody.

As a woman I found the information just as useful as any man with interest in IF would. It was quick, to the point, and held my interest the whole time. I found myself wishing, however, that it was longer. but then, what more is there to be said? He covers the basics of current day fasting trends without delving in to historical beginnings, which I personally appreciated since the history of fasting usually Is buried in religious studies versus weight control. the narrator was easy to follow and kept my attention (Benedict Cumberbatch!) although his "S" sound is pronounced a bit sharp. overall I enjoyed the audio book, really believed in the content provided, and now find myself searching for more titles by same author. (even if I'm a straight middle aged woman with no need to become an alpha male)
