I enjoyed this Reacher book as it was a classic beat em up that we all know and love from Reacher. And in the end, of course he saved the day. I missed Dick Hill as the narrator, because his voice IS Reacher for me. I have enjoyed Scott Brick as the narrator of other similar type books, so didn't mind his voice. There wasn't much difference in the sound of the voices of the various characters, however, so sometimes I was lost in the intertwining stories going on. That was one thing I loved about Mr. Hill - I always knew when he was portraying Reacher. So now I'll be waiting for the next Reacher book...maybe Mr. Hill will come out of retirement for that one...?

Water from My Heart was a surprise. it's the first book in a long time that touched my heart and made me think about my own life as only a book can do. I know it's a work of fiction, but the way the author brought every aspect of the book and every character to life was quite extraordinary. He made me feel what each character was feeling. Be prepared to be afraid, to laugh out loud, to sit in wonder about an experience of the characters, and to cry. The reader was perfect for the book and did his part to bring the book to life. This one is worth your time...you won't regret it!

Of the three books in this series, this was by far my least favorite. I think the main reason for that was the narrator. The whiney constant breathiness was rather annoying, and the character voice definition wasn't like I had come to expect with the narrator of the first two books on the series. The story itself was ok, and it was nice to have some loose ends of the whole series tied up in the end.

I was so excited to listen to this book after finishing the first in the series which was great. I was rather disappointed for the first few chapters with the story which seemed to be focused on making more of a statement about agriculture than on telling a story. As a born and raised farmer, I didn't appreciate that, and almost stopped listening. Elizabeth also seemed more stiff and not the great character that was in the first book. About mid book, the story picked up and E came back. I would liked to have seen more of Ezra in the book as well. As in the first book, fantastic narration!

This is my first book by Mr. Eskens, and I'm impressed. Predictable it is not. I audibly gasped a couple of times because I didn't expect the twist in the plot, which I appreciate in a mystery type novel. I thought the character development was great and improved the story. The narration was very appropriate for the story, and character voices were good. I'll be sure to look for more books from this author!
