I have hundreds of audiobooks. This book is the first book I've listened to twice. And I will go to the first book and listen to that one again after writing this review. These two books in this series are well written and the best narration of wit and fantasy drama. The voice, the plot, the creatures... all hit me perfect.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

In the similar style of Clive Barker, this book creates a genre of its own. It is "outside the box" of established literature genres and thrilling to listen to or read. Quite genius actually.

Anna and Kyle quickly fall for each other, as they are both adventurous, fiercely independent, and in love with the raw beauty and solitude of Alaska. To cement their relationship, they agree to become caretakers of a remote lighthouse perched on a small rock in the middle of a deep channel - a place that has been uninhabited since the last caretaker mysteriously disappeared two decades ago.

Rachel, I hope you read your reviews. This is a work of art with deep insight and original description. I am impressed at how turbulent the waters are with violent action, all within the psyche of people fighting their demons the one truly effective method. Patience and acceptance. You packed such profoundly stirring issues into easy read. I think you wrote a classic, Rachel! And your personal history must be rich. Let me know when you finish another. Let's have coffee! - Cindy

Brilliant. Jack Campbell's Pillars of Reality are in true classic material form. Read/Listen as a good storyline, strong characters, and pure enjoyment - and maybe some truths about conflicts in present day world life will filter through. This is the second book in the series. Please consider reading the first one and get them both! No matter what genre you prefer, I believe this should be on your "must read/listen" list.
