Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty and extra efficient. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes - meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven. But plain Jane is hiding something. Nothing can distract Jane from going straight for his heart: allowing herself to be seduced into Steven’s bed, to insinuate herself into his career and his family, and to expose all his dirty secrets. So she can take it all away. Just as he did to her.

I honestly cannot believe this book got 4.4 stars. It's appalling. I THOUGHT I was getting a good mystery/suspense/who-done-it book but there's nothing in here but porn. At the first incident I thought, "Ok, it IS an Adult Fiction novel, don't be such a prude" but it just got worse and worse. So many expletives and so many DETAILED sex scenes that I was completely embarrassed to have purchased this audiobook. This is NOT something I would want a person in the next lane to hear me listening to in my car. Needless to say, it is also not something I want in my collection.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

there were a lots of characters here that bled into eachother and it was hard to follow who was speaking at times. the narrator is great but maybe could have done more to distinguish between the characters. the story line did have a nice twist at the end that brought the story full circle which I can really respect. all in all not a wasted credit and an enjoyable read!

Why do adults novelists think to write a good story there has to be sex scenes and F bombs? This MIGHT have been a good enough story if it didn't have such explicit content. A husband who misses his wife who had cheated on him and all he wants to know is "Did you c*m with him?" Touching. *eye roll* And she replies "Yes, but I had to use my hand" *eye roll* I mean really?

I get it, it's an adult novel with adult content but for me, this type of content does NOTHING to help the story. Plain and simply, if you don't want to hear people talking about F'ing, and sucking D then don't bother with this book.

THANK GOD I didn't waste my money on the print version.

Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the attention her grandmother Maylene bestowed upon the dead of Claysville, the small town where Bek spent her adolescence. There wasn't a funeral that Maylene didn't attend, and at each one Rebekkah watched as Maylene performed the same unusual ritual: She took three sips from a silver flask and spoke the words "Sleep well, and stay where I put you." Now Maylene is dead, and Bek must go back to the place she left a decade earlier. She soon discovers that Claysville is not just the sleepy town she remembers....

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Well, I found it really hard to connect with the characters. There were also so many characters named that I lost track of who was related to whom. Eventually, it just got to boring and I couldn't finish it :(

What do you think your next listen will be?

No idea!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I like Emma Galvin. She's a pretty good narrator. She doesn't really change her voice for each person though, that's not a deal breaker for me, it's the only thing that I didn't care for. Especially since the characters in this story are so one dimensional, changing voices might have made it a more interesting listen.

Did Graveminder inspire you to do anything?

Listen to a different book. haha. That's mean ;) but true.

Any additional comments?

Melissa Marr's "Made for you" was a lot better and she's known for her Firelight series so if anything I would say, maybe pass on this one, but there ARE better reads of her out there.

Mara Dyer believes life can't get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can. She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed. There is. She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love. She's wrong.

Maybe not the audiobook but the book itself, yes.

Any additional comments?

I don't understand the rush and choppy was Christy Romano does this performance. The books are SOOOO great and the narration is only OK. :( So sad. It's like when they make your favorite book into a movie and the movie isn't what you expected, it changes how you feel about the book. :\ total bummer.
