A sexually charged and wickedly funny thriller starring Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke is the story of a shy Midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the titular cocky Londoner. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family's life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona.

I am SO grateful this was offered by Audible Originals! The pick 2 every month has given me the opportunity to listen to another genre I most likely would have past by as I horde my credits and spend them on what I know I already like.
The new paths to wander and explore I had not imagined would be so amazing! I will still listen to familiar genres, but I will be listening to others that I hope will become as familiar.
Sometimes I wonder, should you just grab a book at random and give it a listen? This is basically what I did for this book, and I am glad I did!

I bought this book because of several people important to me suffering with debilitating depression. through this book I have a better understanding of their very real pain, and find myself better equipped to reach out to them in a way that will be meaningful and helpful. I agree that pills are not the answer, nor are they being 'lazy'.
Can they help themselves? Maybe, but we, as friends and loved ones, can help as well without 'enabling' them. Hillary Clinton once said it took a village to raise a child, it seems it also takes a village to boost society away from depression and anxiety. The book is thought provoking and opens up the idea of depression as a broken brain, to lifestyle and society and our reactions to it.

Comedy superstar Mike Myers writes from the (true patriot) heart about his 53-year relationship with his beloved Canada. Mike Myers is a world-renowned actor, director and writer and the man behind some of the most memorable comic characters of our time. But, as he says, "No description of me is truly complete without saying I'm a Canadian". He has often winked and nodded to Canada in his outrageously accomplished body of work, but now he turns the spotlight full-beam on his homeland.

In this eye-opening account, Cal Newport debunks the long-held belief that "follow your passion" is good advice. Not only is the cliché flawed - preexisting passions are rare and have little to do with how most people end up loving their work - but it can also be dangerous, leading to anxiety and chronic job hopping. After making his case against passion, Newport sets out on a quest to discover the reality of how people end up loving what they do.

Young men and women beginning their careers at my workplace seem to think it will all be handed to them, that I should be grateful that they are here, because after all they have passion for the field. Mr. Newport's clear and concise information would really aid them in discovering that skills and experience trump passion. This book needs to find its way to them. I need to go buy a few hard copies

"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?
