In the first thrilling installment of Chloe Neill's spinoff to the New York Times best-selling Chicagoland Vampires series, a new vampire will find out just how deep blood ties run. As the only vampire child ever born, some believed Elisa Sullivan had all the luck. But the magic that helped bring her into the world left her with a dark secret. Shifter Connor Keene, the only son of North American Central Pack Apex Gabriel Keene, is the only one she trusts with it. But she's a vampire and the daughter of a Master and a Sentinel, and he's prince of the Pack and its future king.

A good start to another Chloe Neill series. It is comforting to have some of the characters from the Chicagoland Vampires series in this books and to hear something of what has happened to them. I liked the action and development of new characters, as well as the growth of a new plot line.

What a fun book! Sad to see the last of this series. Finally, some good things happen for Georgie and she and Darcy are married. A triumph for great characters and a fitting ending for Fig! But where did the newlyweds honeymoon? Did Mummy get back with her ex? Hmmm

The books of this series usually start with a bank and this was no exception. The excitement and richness of the storytelling is addictive. The narration by Khristine Hvam in the audiobook is spot-on. Jane is one of my favorite fictional heroes. This fight with the EV’s has been coming on through several books in the series, so the events when these vamps came to the Nola area were bound to be epic, and so they were. Dark Queen did not disappoint and Faith Hunter writes a plot with the best. Loved this book and a year is a long time to wait for answers!

In 1944, British bomber pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the verdant fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Badly wounded, he found refuge in a ruined monastery and in the arms of Sofia Bartoli. But the love that kindled between them was shaken by an irreversible betrayal. Nearly 30 years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

So this story was good but not my favorite of Rhys Bowen’s writing. It started out well but sort of folded on the Italian side, but I am not sure why, since that is where the drama was. The writing was good but
My issues were with the plotting and especially toward the end. The ending was a standard HEA.

As always, wonderful story telling! Characters are amazing and the plot is a labarynth which makes one feel as though on a journey with the characters. Love Toby’s development. Hope she stays away from the self centered monster who is her maternal parental unit. Grateful to have Tybalt back. Simon is now set to cause more damage. Look forward to the next book.

Good book! I liked the use of the Tolliver (Taliaferro) name for authentic flavor for TN. Tolliver came to Williamsburg in the early 1600’s, and like many VA families, and some likely went west starting in the late 1700’s, ending up in TN (evidence of paranormal activity unknown).

More character development for the team and liked the interaction with Yummy. I’d like to see a vampire on the PSY-LED team if one could be trusted. Have to find the right motivation, of course.

Soul’s personality comes out more. Mud is a very mature 12 year old, which must be partly due to the rush this church forces on females to grow up quickly for their lives of servitude/slavery. I liked the growth of the Nell and Occum’s relationship. I liked the full moon drama with the cats.

This is a fun series, which I hope will have a long story arc. Faith’s writing is stellar as always.

Interesting plot but needed editing for length. Yes, I did want to smack the MC for stupidity and self involvement - what a heartless way to treat Denny, even though he dragged her across the country, let her enroll in school (again), then wanted her to move. She seriously needed a backbone. A tear-jerker but the writing mechanics were ok.

Well written and very enjoyable! I liked the plot and liked Ricky-bo getting his just desserts, even if he was spelled. He cheated to begin with, women always came easy to him, so he can just go find a female ware to suit him. Spending some unrequited love time might strengthen his character. Don't know what Leo is up to, but it won't be good.
