Facebook's founding is legend: In a Harvard dorm, wunderkind Mark Zuckerberg invented a new way to connect with friends...and the rest is history. didn't really like it compared to similar books, too much of just complementing facebook on its achievements and not really managing to extract true insights about the rise of the company.

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

a most engaging lesson in history coupled with thoughtful insights, delivered by a well paced and pleasant to listen to voice actor, adding just the right hint of ligth humour capturing the absurdity of some of the examples so skilfully used by the author to drive home the essence of his arguments. a must read for anyone with a curious mind.

This is the remarkable behind-the-scenes story of the creation and growth of Airbnb, the online lodging platform that has become, in under a decade, the largest provider of accommodations in the world. At first just the wacky idea of cofounders Brian Chesky, Joe Gebbia, and Nathan Blecharczyk, Airbnb has disrupted the $500 billion hotel industry, and its $30 billion valuation is now larger than that of Hilton and close to that of Marriott.
