Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

This book seems to have it all... Entertainment, suspense, technical aspects, humanity, pain, smarts, loneliness... One of my better buys. I have to wonder how the author knows so much about space technicalities... But was a able to convert them in laymen's terms. Great job, now write another!

Ok I'm not the most educated person out there, just an Associates degree. But this book went into much too much technical details for me. I could not connect with the story nor the characters. It was the first Audible book that as I was listening to it day after day I kept wishing it would hurry up and just finish so I could be put out of my misery.

It just dragged too much for me. I like sci fi but not this one. But others like it so to each their own.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

What did you love best about Sycamore Row?

How I didn't want to shut my car off when pulling in the garage because I hated to stop the book. Classic Grisham writing with surprises and cliffhangers. Some things could be predicted but that's inevitable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The opposing lawyer. There always has to be a snake in the grass you dislike.

What about Michael Beck’s performance did you like?

I have amassed quite a few Audible books, and this by far is my favorite narration. Michael Beck does a fantastic job using his voice in different ways for each of the characters, and that's no small feat with all the characters in this book. Whenever he spoke, I knew which character was talking. Great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Mr. Beck's reading of Ansel's story was very moving. He brought life to it, made it seem real.

I've had this book since I was a kid. Spooky story written as only Ray Bradbury can. But to date this is my favorite narrated. He puts so much into each character. Brilliantly narrated. Loved it.
