I enjoy Christian fiction. This author writes books so well and grabs my attention that I don't even know how to put it into words. The author states clearly and without compromise the Gospel message and the truth of the persecuted church! Packed with suspense, action, and a little of everything.... kept me wanting more! I'm saddened to realize book four was not avail in Audible. I hope Books in Motion, Audible and the author (the narrator too) can collaborate and provide the Coil Legacy series!!!!!! Several years ago I started listening to books while I work ( I am an artist). It is part of my creative process.... many pieces were made during this series and as I look upon them I am reminded of parts of these books..., mostly reminded of the gospel truth was shared unadulterated!!!! Keep up good work and we will continue to support the persecuted brothers and sisters through the world... also keeping in mind that the American believers are starting to experience the persecution here in this post Christian society......

Just like everyone in the community, 16-year-old Daniel Byers believes that Emily Jackson’s death was accidental. But at her funeral, when he has a terrifying vision of her, his world begins to rip apart at the seams. Convinced that Emily’s appearance was more than just a mere hallucination, Daniel begins to look carefully into her death, even as he increasingly loses the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality.

I did not realize this book was for young adults/teens but decided to listen and maybe recommend to my son..... after all it was under a religious/Christian category. I'm a big fan of suspense, Syfi fiction. I do not know where the authors faith belongs and my following comments are not personal. However After reading this book I was struck by the theme of a person with psychic abilities being the main character. Who could communicate with the dead. No mater how it is played out, this book should never to be categorized under a Christian. The Word of God strictly forbids any divination, psychic seers etc. this book only reinforces this as normal so many are seeing divination, witchcraft, talking with dead, psychic reading etc as good coming from God. This is totally false as God states he hates this practice..... See Deuteronomy 10There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
12 "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you.

The bible reference the author used in the book to explain his stand are taken out of context as the bible condemns such practices. I do not recommend this book at all as it deceives and is blind to truth.

I don't usually write reviews but this book compels me too!!!! I prefer to read the book version before going to the movie...so glad I did!!!! This book is so real to life and true to form God! A life in chaos, struggles and on the precipice of failure, revelation of who and what God almighty does when He sets a life free.... But it first comes with a cost, surrender and prayer.... Yes I have experienced this type of prayer and answer and healing this depicts..... It's hard to explain to others who are desperate.... This book gives a perfect rendition of the power and restoration of love and life priorities as prayerful expectation is exercised with the Almighty lover of our souls! For anyone who wants God to move powerfully and profoundly... Read this and the Word.... My marriage and life are exact testimony to this book because answered prayer..... Although our circumstances were worse.... We can testify this is not some "movie fantasy" it is real, prayer works and God delights to heal, restore and renew! There are countless people who have this very experience with God and prayer to tell you He is real and really answers as we surrender and draw near!!!

I don't often comment on books but this one requires. I found the story to me and to be inspired. After the stories such as this I realized how it mimicked real life in profound ways. The biblical truths were spot on. This story is close to my heart as it is quite similar to mine... Both with a miraculous answer that often would be ignored by people today.... Yet the gifts portrayed here are God given in real life now...... Thank you for this amazing story!
