I got this when Audible was doing the listener week promo. I honestly wasnt sure I'd listen to it. But chance found it I finished my book I was on and didn't have anything new to listen to for the next week so I downloaded it. Oh my graceous! I did not expect to become so wrapped up in this. This is totally out of my norm. I usually go for YA or Distopian. But this book just took my heart and ran with it! It did throw me a few times with the flashbacks because I would forget what time she was in, but after the first 2 times I began to expect it.

Maisie Dobbs is brilliantly written and Rita Barrington does a phenomenal job of really bringing this story to life and breathing life into each character. We first meet Maisie in her present day time of the late 1920's on her first assignment. This assignment leads to more investigations as she delves into her past and the present. I just can't really describe the feelings this book gives me. The love and heartbreak throughout the book is just spot on esp for a time period as bleak as this was. Maisie is as I would call it and empath. She can feel others pain, see glimpses of what the future brings and is truly in tune with her gift it hurts. If you've been on the bring of reading this and haven't do so. If you are like me and got it for free but don't know if you want to read it. DO IT! I feel in love! Would I pursue others in this category? Probably not. Will I read more of Maisie Dobbs? YES

This was a very fun listen. This was recommended to me. At first the narration bothered me, but only because it sounded like she was talking from a box and distorted everything. Otherwise Kate Tyler did a fantastic job narrating this story. This is my first story by Suz Korb.
Its an excellent storyline. I wish the story was longer to give the author more real credit. As it is now it is rather confusing to keep up with it because there is so much crammed into such a short amount of time. I LOVE the idea behind this. It was very unique in a good way. I just wish that it wasn't so short. Other than that I really enjoyed the story line and the Greek spin on everything. Very enjoyable.

Just wow! The 2nd book in this series was very quick paced. Grip the edge of your seat and hold on kinda pace! You get to see more of Viggo's side of things in this book and Violet as she tries to survive the green. There was so much action going on in this one. The ending though. Talk about leaving you hanging! I cannot wait to get book 3. It ends so abruptly you left grasping at straws. So make sure you are ready to get book 3 when you are close to finishing this one!

Where have I been? I don't know how I missed such an AMAZING series. I cannot wait to read the next one. I don't know why this book has so many meh and so so reviews. I loved this story. It has all the good stuff in the story. Twists and turns, drama, romance, action, and all the like.
I don't 'want to give away anything but the blurb says it all. Violet is on a mission to try to change everything that has happened and wipe her slate clean. To do that she must cross the toxic river from her city of Matrus where the women rule to Patrus where the women have no rights and the men rule. The change is shocking and its hard for her to adjust. But she is doing her best. The mission is complicated and gets more complicated as things progress. I wont say anymore because you need to listen to it.
That ending! I DID NOT see any of this coming and I cannot WAIT to listen to the next book! Very much worth a credit!

This has been on my wish list for AGES! I don't know why in the world I waited so long to listen to this. Its not a instant favorite and actually it had been on my list so long I forgot it was a series and didn't realize it was a series until the ending of this book. This story was so full of action. It was a little overly dramatic in its descriptions of Juliette's feelings or the way she saw things and thought. It made her a bit looney. Like her jaw is on her knees and other very painful and awkward metaphors.
The thing I disliked the MOST about this book was this noise. It took me until halfway through the book to figure it out. I have not seen the book but after googling it apparently there are ALOT of strike through sentences in this book. I cannot tell you how much this annoyed me. Almost to the point of stopping the story all together. AND there was a whole section where she said I AM NOT INSANE for what felt like 2 minutes! Over and over again. Mind you the narrator did the best she could and at least changed the way she said the sentence each time. But still. This is a wonderful story with so much potential. Except the metaphors and strike through and the contradictions. She refused to hurt someone but at the same time wanted to claw their face off.

The narrator did an amazing job! The male and female voices she rocked and the way she really brought emotion into her words is what got me through this book. I REALLY want to see what happens in book 2. But I don't know if I can deal with any more strike through sentences or the weird metaphors. Its a great story and I enjoyed it other than those things listed above. Just be warned when you listen because it will drive you bonkers but the story line is great.

I am a sales manager at a hotel and although I am not looking for a new way to be employed I am always looking for new hobbies and things to learn. When I saw this book I wasn't 100% sure it would be what I was wanting it to be or not but I kept going back to it. I am glad I did!

This is a VERY detailed booked. Some of the chapters were not points of interest for me but I still listened to each one because the knowledge this book gives you is immense! Its alot to take in. I do recommend have a notebook handy when you read. It is very educational on different jobs you can start on the side and build up to. The equipment you need before you start and how to save so that you don't spend all your money and then end up not liking it. The ideas are very original. I honestly wouldn't have thought of any of these except 1! It gives you details such as if you need a licence and if you do what states require it. I am actually interested in learning more about how to do several of the things in this book just to know how to do them because they sounds like alot of fun! The narrator kept my attention the entire time and I loved his voice! It was much better than I expected, I thought it would be very boring because I didn't need the content but I was very wrong.

Even if you are not in the market for a new job but want to learn about hobbies that could be useful one day def check this out! If you are in the market this is a must have! Its a quick detailed listen and you wont regret this purchase!

I'm not sure what I expected when I read the blurb on this book. It sounded like a fun read and I am glad I read this one! It was very entertaining! I didn't want to stop listening! Its a very short read but that does not take away from how amazing it is. I wish I could follow this story more as it progresses!

Gabrielle is the eldest of her twin sister Franscesca by a few minutes. But those few minutes made Gabrielle the heir to the throne. Gabrielle is a free outgoing spirit. She doesn't hold her tongue, she loves to ride her horse and hunt. Franscesca is shy, well mannered and the polar opposite of Franscesca. One night Franscesca comes home in love and excitedly tells her older twin that they will be wed. Shortly afterwards both sisters are pledged to marry. Outgoing Gabrielle to a Duke, fragile Franscesca to a Viking Prince. Oh but the twins hatch a plan of deciet to trick their father to save Franscesca from certain death in the icy lands of the north. The twists and turns and tragedy that follow this decision will keep you on your toes! I very much enjoyed this story.
Narrator Kimberly Hobscheid did a wonderful job narrating this! The different voices for each character was amazing and I felt like she really made the story flow.

In the story we follow Ellie, Mike, Amanda, Bill and Bill's son Benjamin as they fight to survive. Each character faces their own set of circumstances and struggles. The way Michelle writes is so detailed you can perfectly envision everything! Its not just the infected they have to worry about but the crazy non infected too! This is a brillant twist to traditional apocalypse books and I can't wait to see what happens next!! Well worth a credit if you enjoy apocalypse books.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: Every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at 17 years old, there is no one left. I read this book years ago on an ereader. I was craving this story again so I decided to give it a listen this time. Katja Millay writes such a beautifully broken story about Nastya and Josh. Both Broken. Both alone. Both needing something to hold on to. They never would have thought that would be each other. The narrators did a wonderful job breathing life into these characters. Just as before, even though I already knew what happened I was still on the edge of my seat waiting... wanting more.. You feel the pain of each character. You judge some and you hate others and fall head over heels for a few. Its such a wonderful story with such a heartbreaking tragedy. I litterally cannot find the words to express how much I love this book. Their are no triggers in this book if you are sensitive to rape and stuff of the such. But it is just as traumatizing for the character but I do want to disclose that. Its not a spoiler but there have been a few books I wish I had some sort of warning before something happens. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Its beautifully written and never dulls.
