Jayne Frost is a winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus's niece, heir to the Winter Throne, and now private investigator. Needing someone he can trust, her father sends her to Nocturne Falls to find out why employees at a toy store are going missing. Doing that requires getting to know the town, which leads to interesting encounters with a sexy vampire, an old flame, and an elevator that's strictly off-limits. The more Jayne finds out, the more questions she has, but the answers lead her deeper into danger.

This book was enjoyable. The story was fun but not really deep. It is a light funny paranormal mystery with a bit of romance. There were a few parts when I wanted to tap the main character on the head to see if there was an echo. (Some of her choices weren't too smart and she missed obvious things often.) Any additional comments?

As another reviewer said the book is missing part. I would also like to point out that this unabridged version is 20 minutes shorter than the copy of the book that is available on overdrive. (That version is also read by Grover Gardner.) While there is often 2-3 minutes difference in book lengths 20 minutes is a lot.
