The murder of a woman from one of the town's oldest families has Rosedale's upper crust howling for blood, and the prosecutor is counting on Ruby's inexperience to help him deliver a swift conviction. Ruby's client is a college football star who has returned home after a career-ending injury, and she is determined to build a defense that will stick. She finds help in unexpected quarters from Suzanne, a hard-charging attorney armed to the teeth, and Shorty, a diner cook who knows more than he lets on.

James Patterson and his arsenal of cowriters strike again. Almost two complete storylines have been woven together to form this fast paced, twisting novel. By the time the final sentence was read by the superb narrator, I was wondering if there would be a sequel. Narration was perfect and was the true voice of Ruby the main character. Superb plot and performance.

Diane Chamberlain has taken on some weighty issues in her books. this book is no different , but this book adds a bit of science fiction. This is hard to do and I couldn't wait to read it. This book was amazingly believable and riveting. Every chapter pulled me into the book further. Highly recommend. Another huge milestone for Ms. Chamberlain! Awesome read. Compelling story, in depth characters and tremendous research make this book a must listen. Narration was just perfect as well.

In medical charts, the term "N.A.D." (No Apparent Distress) is used for patients who appear stable. The phrase also aptly describes America's medical system when it comes to treating the underprivileged. Medical students learn on the bodies of the poor - and the poor suffer from their mistakes. Rachel Pearson confronted these harsh realities when she started medical school in Galveston, Texas.

I absolutely loved this story. The characters believable and narration was stupendous! At first glance this appeared to be a very straight forward story, but it was crafted so the reader became aware of all the back stories of the supporting characters. The character's interactions with the child in the story adds depth and brings an entirely different dimension to the story. Karen Mcquestion always brings her best and most creative self to everything she writes. Another must-read@

Another terrific suspenseful thriller by harlan Coben. The story is intricately woven and is a great read. The narrator nailed the mood and the performance overall is better than a Broadway play up to the stunning conclusion. I could not wait to finish, but am now depressed that the book is through. It will be tough to find another book that can top the story and narration!
