I chose this rating because he always does a great job at storytelling. I love his narrator, he pronounce a few words differently but I just smile as I have listened to him in several books now. If you enjoy sci-fi there is no better writer.

A journey into the deepest, darkest jungles of the Venezuelan Amazon...and a primeval place and time that mankind was never meant to exist in. Ben Cartwright, former soldier, home to mourn the loss of his father, stumbles upon cryptic letters from the past between author Arthur Conan Doyle and his great-great-grandfather who vanished while exploring the Amazon jungle in 1908. Amazingly, these letters lead Ben to believe that his ancestor’s expedition was the basis for Doyle’s fantastical tale of a lost world inhabited by long-extinct creatures.

I have read all but 2 of his books and they keep getting better I also love his narrator even though he uses a few funny words. His main characters are always military or ex-military a unimaginably strong man, someone who you know you can completely count on that is so rare these days.

The spellbinding story of Warren Harlan Pease, a young U.S. Army sniper freshly returned from the Iraq War to his native New Hampshire. This extraordinary work of compassion and healing grace combines the themes of religion, war and poetry in a way that is wholly original, and unforgettable. It will resonate with skeptics and believers, be shared and discussed between friends and among families.

This isn't a book for the happily comfortable. This is a book for the restless Jesus lover, the long suffering disciple, the openhearted believer. Be forewarned. The challenges inside are designed to unsettle you as well as provide practical suggestions for thriving on the narrow road, even if trouble is your travel companion.

I am disabled and live with horrible chronic pain that even pain meds can’t touch, so obviously I deal with great loss and depression and this book came to me exactly when I needed it, the author touched on every emotion and pain I struggle with as a child of God expelling the myth that if you are saved you should never experience pain or suffering and that Jesus is there even when he falls silent in the valleys of our lives, and reminding me see my father in the wonders all around me. I would recommend this book to everyone, saved or unsaved, healthy or sick, deep connection with Jesus or have not yet found that all consuming love. It definitely falls in my top ten favorite books ever.

A torrential two-day storm has cut off the small town of Solitude, Oregon, from the outside world. But for police officers Stevie Duncan and her husband, Zane, the ravages of nature have nothing on the nature of man. In the last forty-eight hours, a child was a mute witness to a double homicide; an unidentified body has washed up on the riverbanks; and now, at the foot of a submerged bridge, two FBI agents have been found shot to death inside their SUV. What's worse, the young charge they were enlisted to protect has gone missing.

I have been listening to audiobooks for about 10 years after a injury left me disabled and this is the best suspense book I have read to date. They always talk about there twists and turns and I am always disappointed when I figure it out in the first quarter or third of the book, but this book kept you guessing until the very last chapter. I look forward to other books by this author.
