I was leary about buying this, worried it would mostly be a repeat of the books I'd already read, but there is so much more to it. To be honest, I think I prefer the version from his pov. I enjoyed the first set and am glad I read them, of course, but one of the primary things I didn't like about the series was that Anna was WAY TOO FLIGHTLY!!! Her constant "Oh, my!" and irresponsibility and mostly her flip flopping back and forth from what she says she will do and then does the opposite. It got on my nerves in places. I think this was written much better, leaving all of that mess out. Christians pov is more serious, more mature, and I liked that much better. I really hope I'm about to find the next 2 books from this pov because I'd love to read the entire story that way. We need more of these characters. Maybe more from Elliots point of view about his life and why he is the way he is before Kate. Maybe one from Mia that ends in her happily ever after. I really do enjoy these characters and want more of them!

The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now best-selling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett.

I was a bit skeptical of a sequel by a different author, but decided to read it because I've always felt like Gone With the Wind ended in the middle of the story. I wanted a happy ending so badly and hoped I'd get one with this book. It took me on so many twists and turns, I was quite worried Scarlet would never find her happily ever after and I was, well, there's no other word for it but giddy, giddy with excitement, when I realized things were finally working out for her, but what a road she traveled to grow up and get there. To read this, or listen to it, you'd never know it was not written by the same author who created these characters. To read one without the other is only to know half the tale. You've just got to read the rest of Scarlet and Rhett's story!

I really did enjoy the series. The story is sweet, there are some solid cry moments and it ends beautifully. I would recommend it. Having said that, I hope the author discovers a thesaurus for her next series and puts the dictionary away. Too many words that common people would never use and I have a readers voracious vocabulary. Let the dictionary go for a bit. Pick up a thesaurus. The book repeats the same thingsover and over to the point if I ever hear "Oh, my" again, I might punch someone. lol. Megalomaniac is used way too often and then there is the patronizing "Fifty, fifty, fifty," or "my poor lost boy." Those get quite annoying, especially when it's Anna who seems lost thru much of the book. *Spoiler* She has a pregnancy scare over not taking the pill and so she gets the shot, only to end up pregnant because she forgets to take the very next shot. She will promise to stay home and immediately break the promise. She's told her emails are monitored and yet continues to put sensitive info in company emails and then is surprised when those emails are discovered. I like her character for the most part, but this wishy-washy behavior drove me crazy. But, again, if you're not a total prude over the sex stuff, the story is good and I definitely do recommend all 3 books.

I've been patiently (ok, not really very patiently, but what are you going to do?) waiting for book 9 and decided to start the series all over again! I'd forgotten little details, so I'm glad I did. You just can't read/listen to this book enough and the narrator that reads it is just PERFECT for the roll! I feel like I know these characters personally! I've heard DG announced a title for book 9, so I'll be refreshed and ready when it gets here!!!! Can't wait!!!!

I've just absolutely LOVED every book I've read or listened to in the Seal series by Sharon Hamilton. This set is excellent! I'd recommend the Seal Brotherhood Series first (available in 2 Volume sets which is cheaper if you get the sets with 1 credit). That way, you'll be familiar with all of the characters before you start this set. I've finished all of those and I'm going after the next book now. All 3 books in this set are very good, though. Anyone who likes Native American stories will especially love the last one. There's a bit of something different in each that makes them unique, but they're all great!

I don't have to tell anyone how great Grisham writes! He's one of the top 5 author's in modern times as far as I am concerned. This book is another win on his list of wins. It is a fun crime story to read. It's not as dark, or maybe the word would be intense, as many of his other legal thrillers. This one is more about the thrill of the crime and strategies of the criminals and those trying to catch them. While I have enjoyed them all, this one just seemed a bit more fun. I also loved the aspect of the rare books and stories of early 20th century authors. As a lover of classic literature, I really enjoyed that being part of the story. As always, I highly recommend any of Grisham's novels. I dream of one day getting to see him and have one signed. He's just great!
