I truly enjoyed the entire book but the Congressional address at the end is absolutely brilliant and something I wish today's leaders were capable of.

I've listened to all of the Outlander Series once before and loved them, but I'd forgotten parts and wanted to read them again to be ready whenever book 9 comes out. I rarely reread anything with so many excellent books out there still to read, but I could read these over and over again! Book 2 is excellent and now I'm on to book 3!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. I've read or listened to all of the Outlander books and I adore them. I've been patiently (ok, not really very patiently, but what are you going to do?) waiting for book 9 and decided to start the series all over again! I'd forgotten little details, so I'm glad I did. You just can't read/listen to this book enough and the narrator that reads it is just PERFECT for the roll! I feel like I know these characters personally! I've heard DG announced a title for book 9, so I'll be refreshed and ready when it gets here!!!! Can't wait!!!!

I've just absolutely LOVED every book I've read or listened to in the Seal series by Sharon Hamilton. This set is excellent! I'd recommend the Seal Brotherhood Series first (available in 2 Volume sets which is cheaper if you get the sets with 1 credit). That way, you'll be familiar with all of the characters before you start this set. I've finished all of those and I'm going after the next book now. All 3 books in this set are very good, though. Anyone who likes Native American stories will especially love the last one. There's a bit of something different in each that makes them unique, but they're all great!

I don't have to tell anyone how great Grisham writes! He's one of the top 5 author's in modern times as far as I am concerned. This book is another win on his list of wins. It is a fun crime story to read. It's not as dark, or maybe the word would be intense, as many of his other legal thrillers. This one is more about the thrill of the crime and strategies of the criminals and those trying to catch them. While I have enjoyed them all, this one just seemed a bit more fun. I also loved the aspect of the rare books and stories of early 20th century authors. As a lover of classic literature, I really enjoyed that being part of the story. As always, I highly recommend any of Grisham's novels. I dream of one day getting to see him and have one signed. He's just great!

I'm 38 and I enjoyed this series, but I will say it would probably be better suited to a younger generation. It's perfect for a teenage girl, telling a romance story without having a lot of sex talk and showing an example of a couple who waited until the wedding night. I thought the beginning was a bit too storybook at times despite their complications. Her first boyfriend, first kiss, first everything being her one true perfect love is a bit hard to swallow at times and this is coming from a woman who met her husband at 15 and has been married for almost 20 years. She also came off very selfish to me at times in the beginning. But, I got too into the story to give it up. The 2nd and 3rd books were much better for me and I really enjoyed the progression in those stages. The last one gets a mixed review. It was an enjoyable little after story but the way the narrator read that one was totally different and she made Layla sound like a complete ditz. That ruined it a bit for me.

This came highly recommended to me by a friend. She said it is her favorite book series and that she'd read the books several times. I can certainly see why. On one hand, you get your happily ever after which is something I love about a romance novel, but on the other hand, there is nothing predictable about this book. It has a little bit of everything we love about a romance. If you like a romance with Montana cowboys, you get those. If you like Scottish Highlanders, you get one of those, too! Regency England? That's also there. But it's so much more. It's a story of family and the prejudices faced by a black man in the 19th century. It's about loyalty and knowing who you are. It's more than I can fit into a review, so you'll just have to read it for yourself while I'm off to download the next book in the series! Enjoy!

Another good story! The way the narrator does the main voice makes me think of Adrian Paul, the actor who plays in Highlander, so he couldn't get that part more perfect! I'd love to finish the series, but sadly, I have to stick to the books that are a bit cheaper on Kindle Unlimited. I go thru a new one every day or two and that gets expensive. If you can afford them, I highly recommend the books I've read or heard in the series so far. I wish I could afford to donate more to the cause. I do about all I can with paying for Kindle Unlimited and Audible each month and then buying the $1-$2 books. Anything over $3 is me splurging. That sounds so sad but image what someone would spend when they read a book every day or two. It adds up, so don't laugh at my sad self. lol. Anyway, a good story I wish I could hear more of, but at $4.99 on KU, plus the Audible fee, I can't. I got this one with a free credit. :-(
