As if Alexandra Lucas' anxiety disorder isn't enough, mysterious holograms suddenly appear from the sky, heralding the end of the world. They bring an ultimatum: Heed the warning and step through a portal-like vortex to safety, or stay and be destroyed by a comet they say is on a collision course with Earth. How's that for senior-year stress?

Truly unique and gripping listen. It is a YA book, with some less than mature ideas, but it's definitely worth a credit.

A teenage girl awakens to find herself trapped in a coffin. She has no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there. Fighting her way free brings little relief - she discovers only a room lined with caskets and a handful of equally mystified survivors. Beyond their room lies a corridor filled with bones and dust but no people and no answers. She knows only one thing about herself - her name, M. Savage, which was engraved on the foot of her coffin. She finds herself in charge. She is not the biggest among them or the boldest, but for some reason the others trust her.

The story is very amateur sounding. The narration was extremely over done. At times when the people are just talking, the narrator made it sound like they were excited or arguing. I listened to the whole thing, though I don't remember most of it. I kept drifting out of the story because it was so hard to listen to the terrible narration and predictable story line.

Could have been better narrated. This book seemingly has all the right ingredients, but I didn't find myself scared or getting chills. There were some creepy parts, but they felt more like someone describing an incident to you, rather than feeling like you were there watching it all happen.

I loved the perspective from the child. I thought the mother could be a bit cruel, although under the circumstances, I could see how she might feel. Although the story is about a horrific situation and difficult to hear about, I loved it. Having the story told through the child's eyes was a completely fresh take.

I don't want to give anything away here so this is going to be difficult.
As much as I loved part two, I wish it had been shorter and past three had been longer. There are so many stories left to hear about I hope there are more coming. Parts of the book were more technical than I usually like, but the author did a great job of explaining things to laymen.
Narration was fantastic. I Would recommend this book.

I pretty much loved everything about this book. It is YA, so a lot of the fighting and marauding that you would find in other post apocalyptic type books, is not there. I found that aspect refreshing. I'm not sure how quickly or drastically our society would succumb to gangs and violence, though I'd like to think it would be much more similar to what is in this book than in the others that I've "read" on audible. The characters have depth and development, they are realistic in the sense that they don't overcome ridiculous odds. While this book could be a series, it also stands alone and has an ending.
As always Kirby Heyborne have a great performance. Perfect voicing for each different character, I could easily tell who was talking.
I would recommend this book for a credit or even a purchase. I listened straight through even though I have two usher books I'm listening to, I needed a break from them (long and intense) and this one hooked me.
