I rarely find a book I cannot shut off (put down), but this one kept drawing me back in. Every time I thought I had it figured out the author threw out another surprise. It is extremely creepy, and I'm going to try another book by this author as I enjoyed this one so much!

After all they hype that this was the next "Hunger Games" or "Divergent" I found this book horribly disappointing. It is not believable in any sense, and some of the twists are so outrageous it's hard to stay caught up in the story. I quit listening with an hour left because I just didn't care about any of the characters.

I have NO idea why this book is so popular! The author does a great job at character development, but just when you start to get interested in a story it ends, never to be revisited. When I realized that it was pointless to invest any time in any of the characters, as I would never learn any more of their story, I shut off the book. One of the few I never finished, and the only book that I can honestly say "The movie was SO much better than the book!"

This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real.

Full of bad puns, bad attempts at humor, and absolutely no point. I read the reviews & expected at least some humor, but I found none. The ONLY saving grace on my purchasing this book is the proceeds go to a good cause. I'd have rather just donated myself & saved the 8 minutes for a decent read.
