Forbes and Hays are a dream team. I just finished my third series, having consumed Covenant, Divine and now Rebellion. I have thoroughly enjoyed each. Forbes writes in a style that is compelling while being respectful to readers of any age. I am working my way through all of his work and would highly recommend it to anyone. Parents: the three series I mentioned above are much safer than anything on TV.

Hays is an amazing performer. Listening to his work is like closing your eyes when a movie is playing. He has so many different “characters” in his head it’s sometimes just as much fun when I am introduced to a new one.

This is the kind of story that grips you from the beginning. It's Dirty Dozen meets Freespace. I have already bought the next 3 books on Audible.

Corwin seems to have a knack for one-upping himself without carrying things too far. There is a lot of this story written for teens, which is pretty obvious, but I have a hard time putting it down.

The vampling curse is gnawing away at his body and his sanity. Because the cure might lie in his special kind of magic, Justin goes to Arcane University in a desperate attempt to unlock his powers. When he runs into his little sister, Ivy, at the university, Justin realizes this might be his chance to convince her he's not evil. Even better, she might be able to cure him if her shape-shifting protector, Bigglesworth, doesn't eat him first.

I have been reading books for 30 years and can't step away from this story. Sure, there are times that are definitely written for a younger audience but I really do enjoy the books and the narration. I highly recommend this series and this author. The narrator is top notch.

I love the originality and creativity from Corwin. Rising is a great narrator, lending a lot of character to great literary work. This is well worth the money and it is time well spent.
