Had this book not been narrated by the wonderful Julia Whelan, I would have thrown the towel in LONG ago. She could read the phone book and I'd still listen. Well done to her on this performance!!

As far as the story goes, this book seemed like it'd be right up my alley. However, the story fell short. There was no real plot line therefore little resolve at the end. The book just ended. There were so many characters and plot lines open that I honestly ended up getting annoyed at the lack of a true plot line. I found myself dreading listening to this but knew I needed to power through and finish.

Overall, I'm just glad it's over with.

The story is cute. Predictable and cute. That's about all.

I wanted to enjoy this book. However, there was nothing to the story. It read like a cheesy tabloid magazine. None of the characters had any depth and the story was nonexistent. I gave this book a few hours but I always found myself dreading turning it back on. Nothing great to keep me coming back.

This was such a fun, light listen. I really enjoyed each of the characters and was rooting for each of them to find happiness. I was nervous going into this being a "romance" novel but thankfully it was void of all the overly romanticized, never ending sex scenes. There was nothing cheesy or cringe worthy in this book! (I'm clearly not a fan of gushy romance novels)

At times, my heart ached for Emma Blair. Our lives can change so much over the years and I felt her pain of wanting to hold on to the past but not forget how far she's come. This was well worth the listen.

After drudging through this book for almost 14 hours, I am finally throwing in the towel.

There is no character development or chemistry. They are simply people doing things. I don't feel connected to the characters at all.

Libby is a woman who thinks having a 12 year affair with a married man is okay. Isabella is an annoying, crazy woman who is completely overcome with grief. The two of them need a big ol' slap upside the head. This book makes me embarrassed for women.

I love Chip and Joanna. So of course I loved this book. It's a fun little read (ok, listen) about their lives. If you like them, you'll like this book.
My one issue with this audiobook was more in the editing. The sound was off from chapter to chapter. It was also sped up a lot at times. A chapter would end and there'd barely be a pause before they'd be reading the title of the chapter. Not a huge deal but was a little annoying to listen to. But I did love hearing it from their voices.
Overall, fun little story!

This is the story about a girl who has done nothing wrong in her entire life. Amazing you might think! Who is this perfect specimen?? Why, it’s Holly Madison! Let’s dive in.

The 2000’s teen in me was drawn to this book out of pure curiosity. Did I think it was going to be a well written, deep book? No. It’s about a woman who chose to spend 7 years living at the Playboy mansion screwing an old guy because she didn’t have anywhere else to live. In this story, Holly paints herself as a highly intelligent, goody two-shoes living with nasty, drug abusing hookers and a cruel, controlling and manipulating Hef. She exhausts herself as the victim to an eye rolling extent. At first I was bought in. I could see how/why she got there. But frankly, Holly became cruel and bitter towards every single person in her life, aside from Bridgett. Holly could do no wrong but if someone else did exactly what she did, it was cheap, back-stabbing or trashy. She contradicted herself on nearly every page of the book.

With that all said, this was still an enjoyable fluff book. The Alice in Wonderland format of this book set up the story perfectly. It gives you an inside look into a truly odd situation. For that, I appreciated the entertainment and is why I’m on the fence whether I liked or hated this book. Her sugar-coated perfection is absurd. No one in life can be this perfect.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

This was simply not good. People comparing it to Gone Girl are completely off. This story is pointlessly complicated with no real wrap up. I kept waiting for that "ah ha!" moment when all the pieces fell together but it never happens. You connect this to that, and then this to that, and another few things but connect but it's all superficial crap.

Part 1 was interesting. I enjoyed the format and it set the story up well. After that, it all fell to pieces. Another reason I got this book was because of Julia Whelan, who I typically love. This was a sub par performance on her part.

Overall I am beyond disappointed with this book and can't believe I just wasted 11 hours of my life listening to it.

Eleanor is not who you would expect. She's a lost soul unaware that she's even lost. A woman of routine, her world gets turned upside down when something out of her ordinary occurs. You watch Eleanor grow into a completely different person. This story will make you think differently about the guy on the bus without socks on or the antisocial girl at your office. I really enjoyed this book and think anyone would benefit becoming friends with Ms. Eleanor Oliphant.

I chose this book based on listener reviews and I AM SO GLAD I DID. I've never been a Prince fan so I didn't get this book hoping to connect with an idol; I just wanted an interesting listen. From the very beginning, I was hooked. Mayte has an incredible voice for narration. More than that, she led an incredibly fascinating albeit unconventional life.

I simply cannot recommend this book enough. It was moving, funny, entertaining and very moving. The connection that she and Prince shared was magical and I'm thankful she shared this with the world. WELL DONE, PRINCESS MAYTE.
