This story is a seasonal treat, a modern, lyrical retelling of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Eb is a spoiled child who really is not one for caring, and he certainly hates sharing. He is watched over by a very special guardian - the family’s ancient longcase clock, who is bestowed with magic. His name is Grandfather Time. On Christmas Eve, Grandfather Time decides he must teach the boy a lesson.

Sir John Penlyon is planning to spend Christmas at his estate with his niece and his friend Danby, the closest thing he has to family since disowning his daughter years ago. (She eloped with the parson, who was, of course, penniless.) Danby suggests that at Christmastime the estate needs the presence of small children, and offers to find some - the “hirelings” - despite Sir John’s skepticism. Three children duly arrive, and the youngest, precocious four year-old Moppet, quickly endears herself to Sir John.

We’re not talking about just some silly jokes or one-liner; these jokes compiled by Mike Gaffy are an assembly of some of the most offensive and funny jokes, puns and double entendres known to man. Guaranteed to annoy loved ones to the very brink of entertainment, these jokes are a surefire way to land some embarrassing laughs with the precision of the most dedicated corny dad. Stubbed toe? We work to the point of extreme exhaustion. Everyone is just too rushed, hurried, and stressed. We alleviate our stress by shopping for more stuff, binge eating, and engaging in time-wasting activities. We fill our lives with needless activities, relationships, and clutter. This makes us lose sense of who we really are and what’s important to us. This is the reason why the Japanese people have developed a lifestyle that strips away the inessential things in their lives. It’s called minimalism. In this audiobook, you’ll hear proven strategies on how to practice minimalism.

While this is a hot topic now I appreciated the way this was explained and the help offered to rewire your brain. I'm one of those people whose house looks good, not too cluttered, neat and clean. Unfortunately if you open the drawers or the closets and heaven forbid you go into my garage - well I'm just saying I need help. I am going to try this method and hopefully live in a home that isn't overwhelming. Well written and I enjoyed the narrator. I would absolutely recommend this book.

The Didache, also known as The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, is a brief anonymous early Christian treatise, dated by most modern scholars to the first century. The first line of this treatise is "The teaching of the Lord to the Gentiles (or Nations) by the twelve apostles". The text, parts of which constitute the oldest extant written catechism, has three main sections dealing with Christian ethics, rituals such as baptism and Eucharist, and Church organization.

Interesting material. This book describes what is considered old doctrine but really it's what was meant to be that has been lost through time. Some of the wording - the thees and thous - could be updated to modern language which would make it easier to take in what it is trying to convey. I am a christian who has somewhat lost my way but if what this book teaches could help many to understand what is meant to be and would encourage those like me that are turned off by the current church hypocrisy. I would recommend this book to those who want to understand the first teachings and learn.

If you had the chance to live forever, would you take it? It's 2053: An old man, Viktor Erikson, lies on his deathbed. Alone and with no known relatives, he is tended to by Olivia, a nurse. He has only one request: that she reads to him. The request is not unusual, but the battered, leather-bound tome she must read is no ordinary book. Written in 1839, it chronicles the discovery of the fountain of youth by Morgana de la Motte - and Viktor Erikson.
