Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

This boxed set contains 3 complete science-fiction novels. This is science-fiction at its best - future engineering, intrigue, first contact. It’s a space opera like none you’ve experienced before. The audiobooks will keep you listening late into the night, and you won't be able to stop....

Poor production quality (repeats text, mispronounced words); uninteresting narrator, and some pretty large technology gaps that were glossed over, e.g., how does what is basically a FAN move equipment through space? Once that story line was introduced - and again, glossed over - I became disinterested. Especially after the editing team fell flat on their faces with loops, coughing, etc. Unacceptable.

An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Annie Collins is back! Becoming an overnight celebrity at age 16 should have been a lot more fun. Not helping matters: she’s the only kid in school with her own pet spaceship. She would love it if things found some kind of normal, but as long as she has control of the most lethal - and only - interstellar vehicle in existence, that isn’t going to happen. Worse, things appear to be going in the other direction.

When a spaceship landed in an open field in the quiet mill town of Sorrow Falls, Massachusetts, everyone realized humankind was not alone in the universe. With that realization everyone freaked out for a little while. Or almost everyone. The residents of Sorrow Falls took the news pretty well. This could have been due to a certain local quality of unflappability, or it could have been that in three years the ship did exactly nothing other than sit quietly in that field, and nobody understood the full extent of this nothing the ship was doing better than the people who lived right next door.

What did you love best about The Breakers Omnibus?

It took a new twist to the end of the world scenario, which I liked. Just when you think it's one thing, it turns out to be something entirely different.

What did you like best about this story?

Good writing, likable (or hate-able) characters; interesting story line.

What about Ray Chase’s performance did you like?

He did the various voices, male and female alike, in a believable way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Any additional comments?

This book was a repeat of Book 1; more of the same, really. The reader's monotone, fast-paced reading became tiresome. I should have left off at Book 1.
