In an attempt to manage his overflowing book collection, Elliott builds a miniature neighborhood library in his front yard. The project puts him in touch with his neighbors - for better and worse - and introduces him to handsome, charming Simon.  While romance blooms quickly between them, Elliott's not willing to live in the closet, and his best career prospects might take him far away. His books have plenty to tell him about history, but they give him no clues about a future with Simon.

Delightfully heartwarming story and the concept of a "little library" bringing a community together was excellently written.
Well developed MC's with realistic strengths and weaknesses and issues any of us could experience - all expertly narrated by Andrew McFerrin.

I'll be happy to listen to this one again when i'm looking for something light and easy going. :)

After the hard winter of 1888 ended Alby Boyle’s work as a Nebraska ranch hand, he returned to New York City in search of his long-lost family. His mother and brothers are nowhere to be found, however, and after Alby’s years of absence, Five Corners no longer feels like home. His prospects seem as dim as the nighttime alleys. When Alby pauses to admire an angel ornament in a department store window’s Christmas display, he meets Xeno Varnham-Summerfield. Wealthy, handsome, and enthusiastic, Xeno brings Alby some temporary cheer.

Delightfully entertaining Christmas story. Well written with great characters and just enough spice.

KC Kelly does a great job bringing the characters to life.

This is book 2 in the series, the angel ornament being the common element amongst the stories.
Each book can be read/listened to on its own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of 4 short stories, each is a fun and mischievous twist on its classic fairy tale base.

(1) The Naked Prince (Cinderella) runs approximately 50 mins
(2) The Golden Rule (Goldilocks and the Three Bears) runs approximately 55 mins
(3) What ever happened to (Pinocchio) runs approximately 35 mins
(4) Ice Cold (The Snow Queen) runs approximately 60 mins
Each 'Title' is basically one chapter of the audio file so it's easy to pick between them to re-listen to your favorite.

Joel Leslie did a great performance - each character voice is unique and any of the characters who make an appearance in multiple stories are voiced consistently.

Taylor Langford’s world is torn apart when he is only 13 years old - his parents killed, leaving him alone and orphaned. With no living relatives, he’d certainly be another statistic if not for the intervention of the policeman who found Taylor in the crawl space where his mother hid him that fateful night. Frank Moore is a rookie with the Dallas Police Department when he and his partner answer the call in Devonshire. Over the years, Frank becomes a permanent fixture in Taylor’s life.

All the characters in both books felt very real and I loved that both Taylor (Book 1) and Shannon (Book 2) had a strong and loving support network.
Nick Russo did an excellent narration of both titles, with all characters distinct and consistent in both books.

Bowen Merlin accepts a position in the quaint town of Lancaster, New Hampshire, as the high school band director. He leaves New York City for the snowy countryside of New England just in time for the holidays. With class, homework, after-school activities, and a surprise Christmas concert to plan and rehearse, Bowen is plenty busy. And since he’s never had much luck with romance, factoring in time to find Mr. Right isn’t a priority.

Joel brings so much life to all the characters that I couldn't help becoming completely invested in the story (and I thought his Shaun was pluperfect) - I think i'm going to give up reading and just stick with audio !!!

Christopher Rush is not gay. But after a breakup with his longtime girlfriend, he finds himself crossing swords with his best friend Jeremy Pratt. Who's also not...gay. It was a one-time thing. It didn't mean anything. They like girls. At least, that's what these boys of summer tell themselves as they pretend it wasn't more than experimentation. With only four weeks left before they leave town for college, Christopher and Jeremy awkwardly navigate their way through a series of unfortunate (or very fortunate) events.

There isn't anything particularly wrong with this "coming of age" story, personally, i just struggled to engage with it or become invested in the characters.

For me, sometimes the language was just too crass, there were too many misogynistic references and unnecessary "f" bombs (one 36 minute chapter uses it 61 times). I get that it's the behaviour of some eighteen year old boys, but used excessively I find it unnecessary and distracting to the story.

Given the quality of the narration/editing that is available these days, this production really needs to be better edited for background noise and repeated phrases. The narrator did a reasonable job, but I would have liked more distinction between the two main characters, sometimes I found it difficult to distinguish which character was at the forefront.

Each story stands on it's own and Kim Fielding has a knack for writing the best and worst of "humanity".
Joel Leslie's performance brings a unique voice and life to each of the characters.
I do wish the stories were longer and there were more in this series though.
