B.B. Hamel writes a steamy romance between childhood friends turned enemies and then work professionals. Having to navigate where they stand with each other and pleasing their wacky client becomes quite tricky and forces these two to face the past. I could not wait for Justin to put Remy in her place and when he finally did it was great. The fantastic Meghan Kelly does a great job bringing this story to life!

Hailey Bishop was used to low expectations, accepting whatever the world’s tides sent her way. She had a boyfriend, a best friend, and a degree in library sciences, although no job yet. If Brian ever proposed, she'd probably say yes. Then Hailey got the "letter", unexpectedly, from a sister at the orphanage in which she'd grown up. It revealed the name of her birth mother. It took Hailey only a few Google searches to find Annabel Edwards, who was semi-famous and living in Spain. Hailey not only had a mother, but two sisters who each had triplets.

Alex rises from his dark times like a Phoenix, giving him a new concept of what is truly important. Having Meghan Kelly as a narrator was a great choice!

Charlie and Sean are two tortured souls, brought together they are made whole. Kristie Haigwood has me hooked and waiting, not so patiently, for part two. Charlie, an introvert, is content wearing her invisibility cloak and just trying to go unnoticed until one fateful night when everything changes and Sean walks into her life. Their friendship gets really intense fairly quickly, and it becomes clear that Sean needs Charlie just as much as she needs him. I can’t wait for “Becoming Charlie: Part Two”!

Things that bite are pretty common in the land down under. A predator could be lurking behind every tree, inside every shadow. It is, however, a horrible new menace that threatens the serenity of the vast, sunburnt country: washed inland on a wave of toxic waste, mixed with great white sharks and sleazy topless waitresses. The outback is dry and boring at the best of times...but now, it really bites!

Hattie is a strong young woman, that overcomes all the bad things life sends her way. Consumption and a desire for love leads her down a dark path with little hope, until there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a man with a star. I enjoyed every minute of this book. The harsh reality of what the Wild West was like and sometimes women took the brunt of the brutality. Another stellar performance from Meghan Kelly!

Adams did a fantastic job with this story! One of my favorite parts in this story, and I will admit that I cried a bit, was when the town folks heard of their misfortune and came to help. I appreciated the love and forgiveness that happens and the building of relationships. Meghan Kelly was a great choice in narration because she has a gift in bringing each and every character to life.
