Fun, funny, sexy, interesting premise and well written. Funny endearing characters and fantastic performances by both narrators. Will definitely seek more from this author.

I have two issues with this book. Beyond these, it was an interesting enough story, predictable, okay characters, but I was really wanting to see more about him being a single dad and her relationship caring for her brother. It was way too short for the price, but that's my fault for overlooking the length when purchasing.

1) It's a two part book. I wasn't aware, it didn't seem to say this anywhere when I was purchasing. It also ends on a massive cliffhanger. I don't mind a cliffhanger if I'm aware that it's a series, and know that I'll get a resolution. But this... no. I can't even honestly call it a series or whatever else. It's one story, where the author has cut it in the middle to make two books, just when the story gets interesting. I'm not paying twice for what should be one book.

2) Jacob Morgan. He has no inflection. He has no emotion. When he reads the female character, it sounds like a little boy who is constantly whinging. And it's the same for every female character, always. His love interest, his nanny, his daughters. They all sound the same and they all make me cringe painfully.

While I loved the story and was intrigued from start to finish, I strongly disliked the narrators.

Probably the strangest thing for me is, if one of the main characters is going to have a strong accent, both narrators who read his voice need to display that accent and not just one.

It also helps a lot if the narrators are capable of altering their voices for different characters, even just a little. If not, it can be incredibly confusing following the story and who is speaking.

To be honest I didn’t get more than two minutes in. I have to wonder if this is a joke? Who was this narrator and what possessed them to go into audiobooks because wow was that a mistake. I didn’t know if I should laugh or scream in terror but I’m leaning toward terror at this point. I skipped through various chapters to see if it changed, like perhaps this strange speaking was just for the introduction but no, the entire book is the same. If this wasn’t a part of the romance package I’d be demanding a refund but as it is I’m considering deleting the audible app just so I never have to remember this experience.

The story itself, while too PG for my usual tastes, was fine. However the performance was so terrible I’m surprised I managed to finish this book.

I’ve no idea who it was, but this is the only way I can think to describe her performance: think American woman who once saw and English soap opera 25 years ago and is using that memory to create an accent. The ‘posh’ accents and the way the different characters would pronounce words was ridiculous. The inability to stick to one single accent, even for the main character was non-existent. Even within a single sentence poor Dorothea seemed to be from at least three different countries. Multiple times it was impossible to discern which character was even speaking for the narrators inability to adapt multiple tones of voices and many times I could not even tell if it was meant to be the male or the female who was speaking.

This was such a different experience to what I am used to on audible! Much more like a short play, but an incredibly interesting story. Good performances by all characters but overall I don’t think I would buy another of this type.

It felt like I was a kid in Sunday school being read to by the pastors wife, who is incapable of changing her voice or tone when switching between characters. I didn’t get very far in so reviewing the story would be impossible, but there was no way I could keep going.

While the story was, from what I could tell, good, the people reading were not and completely ruined this audiobook. I'm from the 'KA can do no wrong' club, but I can't deny this was a very bad audiobook and if it weren't free I would have requested a refund.

I absolutely love this book. I've read it more times than I could count and I thought the audiobook would've just as great. For the few minutes I could manage to listen to, it sounded like a computer voice, with less emotion than siri. Very disappointed.
