Attorneys Landon Holt and Carly Pachett want the exact same thing: the only open partnership spot at their prestigious criminal defense firm. When Landon and Carly are forced to collaborate on the defense of one of the firm’s A-list celebrity clients in a high-profile murder case, there’s no question the assignment is a test to see which one of them will get the promotion. When it comes to the verdict, will they compromise their careers for love?

Great story, and you can never go wrong with anything narrated by Nicola Victoria Vincent. I found it a bit funny to have a British narrator doing an obviously American book, but for the most part, she gets the accents right. A few words here and there are pronounced in a very un-american way (like "tacos," for example), but it's all forgivable and does not detract in the least from the story.

This was my first Carsen Taite book, and it won't be my last. 5/5 all around.

Mystery writer Bethany Lange wasn't prepared for the twisting emotions that left her breathless the moment she laid eyes on folk singer sensation Ali Hart. Of course she was flat on her back and looking up and backward at the gorgeous singer, but that didn't stop her body and heart from bursting into a kaleidoscope of want, need, and lust. Scared at the intensity of her feelings, Bethany does everything she can to avoid Ali.

Eliza Andrews' writing is beautiful, and the narration here will have you experiencing the story as if you're right there with the characters. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
