My Fault for not realizing how “god” centric it was

I was just introduced to Dr Leaf at a leadership conference and everything she said blew my mind and I could not wait to get my hands (ears) on her book. I didn’t realize how intertwined she is with god and the Bible. That’s great that she is but it’s not for me. You start to reference bible passages and I am out.

I have followed Dooce and read her blog since way back in Mary J Blige inspired masthead times. I’ve always appreciated her honesty and humor. I was NOT ready for this story. I mean. I knew what the book was going to be about since I listen to her podcast but...I.. WASN’T READY. I’m sure reading the book is impactful but hearing Heather read it with the at times trembling voice ...for and extremely empathetic person like me...I cried. A lot. The journey is worth it. I know it’s weird to be so invested in a stranger’s life. I don’t care. I’m cheering my head off for her while having a slight tinge of jealousy that I do not have a family that I can lean on like she does. This is a must listen. Thank you Heather for sharing your life with us.

I liked this less than some other of her books mostly because too many animals died.

What a lovely magical and moving story. The emotion it invoked was so powerful. Wonderfully done.

I’m going to give her Witch’s Daughter book another try. I could not get into that book at all but this one was lovely. Immediately hooked me. Easily went between time periods. I cared about the characters and the outcome. Truly lovely.

I throughly enjoyed the series and the narration really brought it to life. She does an amazing job with the voices and languages.

I follow Jedidiah on Instagram and love him. I was so excited for the book and I am thrilled of his success with it. It was a good listen. He does a great job narrating it. It didn’t give me any feels. I didn’t walk away with any big inspiration or anything. But it was a pleasant listen.

First time this has happened to me and it’s completely subjective but I wish Melody narrated herself. I just disliked listening to Lorna so much that I went ahead and bought the physical book.
