Though I expect great comedy from this crew, I didn't expect it to be so touching. I teared up (in a good way). This was simply wonderful.

Story
Hilketa is a frenetic and violent pastime where players attack each other with swords and hammers. The main goal of the game: obtain your opponent's head and carry it through the goalposts. With flesh and bone bodies, a sport like this would be impossible. But all the players are "threeps", robot-like bodies controlled by people with Haden's Syndrome, so anything goes. No one gets hurt, but the brutality is real, and the crowds love it. Until a star athlete drops dead on the playing field.

I can't get enough of this series. The premise and technologies are incredibly plausible. And "Head On" takes it to the next level! If human controlled robots become commonplace, of course we'll see an uber violent head ripping sport come out of that! mix that with good old fashion greedy butt heads, lots of twists and turns and great sarcastic humour, and you've got Head On. Simply great, and Wil Wheaton's delivery is just prefect.

This started off real good. Some of Neil's explanations of known physics were the best I've heard. I went from 5 to 4 star at the end of the book. Sorry Neil, but a summary of astrophysics does not need a section for you to preach, even if your views are correct.

I liked a lot of this book, and can actually recommend it even though I only gave 3 stars.
Why 3 stars?... My disbelief that every medical problem known to man is caused by our meat consumption.
Here's a quick summary of what you can expect.
Chapter title: "How to not die by X" (where X is Heart Disease, Cancer, etc)
Chapter summary: "Eat plants. Don't eat meat, or animal products"
Here's a quick summary of the kinds...
Plants are good (Yeah!)
Chicken is Evil
Eggs are Evil
Beef is Evil
Milk is Evil
Cheese is Evil
Pork is Evil
Bacon is extra Evil
You get the idea...
To repeat, a lot of this book is good, but it's also a Vegan Sermon.
PS. I thought the performance was quite good. I enjoyed hearing the tail from the authors own voice.

Winston Churchill had a longer and closer relationship with the Royal Navy than any British statesman in modern times, but his record as a naval strategist and custodian of the nation's sea power has been mired in controversy since the ill-fated Dardanelles campaign in 1915. Today, Churchill is regarded by many as an inept strategist who interfered in naval operations and often overrode his professional advisers - with inevitably disastrous results.

This is a great book for History buffs and Churchill fans alike. Quoting the writings and words of many historical figures, this work paints a vivid moving picture of the events unfolding in this time.
Narration was superb. Roger Davis does a wonderful "Churchill" during all the quotes (and this book is full of them). He's also pretty good with the American accent when required.
