Talented in magic, the young elven woman Ruethwyn didn't fit in in her hometown but was scheduled to attend the most renowned academy of magic in the kingdom and was even building up the courage to confess her love in the hope it might be returned. That all ended in a dragon's fire. Resvarygrath the Gilded destroyed Ruethwyn's village, killed her parents and teacher, and stole away the young women of the village. A story of inner strength and resolve.
Great characters with lots of growth possibilities but that is expected from Benjamin Medrano.
The narrator was a perfect fit for the series.
5/5 and waiting for the rest

Terrence Mack was born poor, grew up tough, and died hard. Waking up in a sea cave with nothing but the clothes on his back and a new bullet scar was enough to convince him that wherever his death had brought him, it wasn't paradise. His new world quickly proves to be a place of danger, magic, monsters, and - for Terry at least - women. Known on Celestine as a template, Terry's genes are key to the survival of the eldritch races. But the fiercely competitive eldritch don't typically leave their lovers alive long, and aren't accustomed to taking 'no' for an answer.

Terry is a deeply scared man who will sacrifice anything to help his family and loved ones. Unlike most harem stories each character possess fears and goals and feel real. Tess Irondale was just icing on top of a very suculent cake.
Hoping we get the other books
