Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

Luke Smitherd- you are a funny guy. I loved the afterward and lo- your pleading worked - I offer this review-
This is an interesting book - the narration was very good.
I was immediately grabbed by the story - after all a giant stone man marching across England is bound to catch your attention.
The characters were fine and I enjoyed the concepts at the end- but I felt it was missing something - I don't know exactly what - either more delving inward or expanding outward. Perhaps more humor? Readers who want a definite ending and answers will resent the ending - I recommend it .

Vikas Swarup's spectacular debut novel, the inspiration for the award-winning film, opens in a jail cell in Mumbai, where Ram Mohammad Thomas is being held after correctly answering all 12 questions on India's biggest quiz show, Who Will Win a Billion? It is hard to believe that a poor orphan who has never gone to school could win such a contest. But through a series of exhilarating tales, Ram explains to his lawyer how episodes in his life gave him the answer to each question.

A wonderful tale of twelve answers. The answers to twelve game show questions paint a vivid picture of India - from aging movie stars to man made cripples, abuse, rape, murder and ultimately - redemption .
With a pinch of luck for spice and happy endings. I'm a fan.

As always VS tells a wonderful story with complex characters. Not only I eager to follow the story - I care about each and every one, even villains have elements of Ghani. I'm a huge fan of VS. He is one of those writers who has enlarged my world. The narration is also fabulous.

There was a time when geeky, squeaky-clean Max Kilgore would never lie or steal or even think about murder. Then he accidentally unearths a devil, and Max's choices are no longer his own. The big red guy has a penchant for couch surfing and junk food - and you should never underestimate evil on a sugar high.

Would you try another book from Alice Hoffman and Heather Lind and/or the narrators?

I love Alice Hoffman, but this book was all one sad note. Where is the magic? Where is at least a tad of wonder?
Narration does not help. I would not listen to her again
