I listen to a fair amount of fantasy books so I know the genre pretty well. King’s Envoy is one of the best fantasy books I have listened to lately. Great descriptions, great action, great magic and creatures. Very well developed characters. The narrator is excellent , as was the production quality.

Laid out upon these frail leaves is a banquet of delectable misfortunes and savory tragedies. Partake of these melancholy morsels of bile and brine, of wrath and regret. Sample vintages of fermented tears and distilled blood. Lick the sharp edges of cursed blades, and nibble frail hopes set on platters of tarnished silver. Strange sorrows warp the palette of perception and bring about subtle ruin and uncanny vigor. Indulge in the filling robustness of Tainted Steel.

This is one of the best books I have listened to lately. The action was fast and intense from the very beginning. I loved the sound effects. It made me feel as if I was in the story. It is narrated more like an audio drama than audiobook, which was fine with me. All the voice actors were excellent.

Cara Snow is newly divorced, stuck working for a jerky boss at a pet boutique, and dreading her soon-to-be-empty nest with only her beloved corgi for company. Worse still, her ex just got engaged. Doesn’t she deserve some romance, too? Or, at least a date for the Fur Ball. She’s always enjoyed the annual pet rescue gala, but this year her ex will be there with his fiancée. Meanwhile, Cara hasn’t met anyone — other than the irresistible dogs at the boutique’s adoption events. Cara is shocked when her wish to fall for a man as easily as she does for those mutts summons Vincent. His velour track suit, paunchy belly, and tough-guy accent don't exactly fit her childhood image of a fairy godfather. Not exactly on top of his game, he admits to being twenty-five years late.

I did not expect fairy godfather involvement. The story is excellent and , for me, very relatable. The narrator is awesome and managed different voices and different dialects very well.

As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling. Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

Where does Sawyer's Rose rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I’m don’t usually listen to romances but Sawyer’s Rose is more than a romance. Good plot and twists that I did not see coming.

What other book might you compare Sawyer's Rose to and why?

Sawyer’s Rose reminds me of Louis L’Amour somewhat. Tough but hurting cowboy and an equally tough woman trying to make her way in the West.

Any additional comments?

Narrator was awesome. I don’t think there could be a better voice for a western. Honestly, he reminded me of San Elliott.
