Manda Wolfgram is a struggling literary agent who is looking for the perfect manuscript to land in her lap and the perfect man to land in her bed. When the sixth-floor hottie finally asks her out, she gets more than for which she bargained. How can a girl wrap her brain around a Shakespearean actor who writes erotica? Harry Sackes leads a double life: making a career as an author by day and dipping into the dark underworld of criminals at night. The moment he sees Manda in his twin brother's arms, his whole life becomes his personal Shakespearean trag-comedy of mistaken identity.

I very much enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and I like the twists that keep one guessing.
I can relate to Manda and I can feel for Harry's insecurity.

The narrator does a good job with the narration.

There was some feedback in the recording. It didn't sound like a clean copy.

This story involves a triangle. I don't know that I would call it a love triangle since it didn't fit my idea of love. The characters are all self absorbed and very flawed.
I had to stop listening at chapter 4. It was too upsetting to me.

I did not like the narrator. I don't think her voice of the characters was developed enough and I don't think she made the story interesting. There was also too much hesitation in the narration.

I enjoyed it very much. It was a very good mystery and kept you guessing through the whole book.
The paranormal was very believable. It felt more like ESP and not necessarily something that you would think would never happen to a normal person.

I thought Karen Bachman did a good job with the narration. I will listen to more of the series.

This is the second book in the City Hall series. The Wisteria Witches Mysteries series runs parallel to this series.
The City Hall series features Zinnia and the WWM series features Zara and Zoey.
Throughout each series there are events that are happening at the same time. It's fascinating how the author weaves them together while keeping the series separate. Each series has a different narrator and they both do an excellent job!

If you haven't read any of these books yet don't miss them!
