In the latest novel in Genevieve Cogman's historical fantasy series, the fate of worlds lies in the balance. When a dragon is murdered at a peace conference, time-travelling librarian spy Irene must solve the case to keep the balance between order, chaos...and the Library. When Irene returns to London after a relatively straightforward book theft in Germany, Bradamant informs her that there is a top secret dragon-Fae peace conference in progress that the Library is mediating, and that the second-in-command dragon has been stabbed to death.

Ms Cogman Does Not Disappoint!

I would recommend Ms Cogman's "Library" series to anyone who enjoys originality. She has built a world with wonderful characters, each with unique talents. Her plots keep you involved and wanting more.

Although I believe the books can be heard and enjoyed individually, I highly recommend starting from the beginning of the series to get the full benefit of character and plot development.

There is no way to write a blurb for this final book without spoiling all of the others. Suffice it to say, mysteries resolve, dragons war, pigeons abound, and Julius must risk himself in ways he never dreamed possible as Bob's grand plan finally comes to fruition.

Each of Ms. Cogman's books is amazing in the scope of the reality and characters that she creates. Irene is an amazing female with strong instincts and a stronger will to do the right thing. Once I start listening it is very hard to find a stopping point. I hope there is another "Library" book coming soon.

Entering the magical wizarding world as Devon has come to know it is like being on a rollercoaster. The action never stops and the characters that accompany him on this ride get better with each book.

For your sanity, read the series starting with the 1st book. It it is well worth the time.

I can't wait to read how Devon deals with his new job.

Dragons Live

Overall
4 out of 5 stars

The author created an interesting alternative world inhabited by familiar fantasy characters. The book was a bit slow in the beginning (that was the reason it was given only 4 stars) but increased in pace as each new character was introduced. I liked the fact the the main protagonist is portrayed in a positive (boy scout) light. I will definitely read the sequels to this book.

Audie Award, Fantasy, 2016. As the smallest dragon in the Heartstriker clan, Julius survives by a simple code: keep quiet, don't cause trouble, and stay out of the way of bigger dragons. But this meek behavior doesn't fly in a family of ambitious magical predators, and his mother, Bethesda the Heartstriker, has finally reached the end of her patience.
